DSP Quattro 2 or 2.5 (depending on whether you're on PPC or Intel). With the slider below the main waveform window you can do that manually – even go through 'stop' to 'backwards'. HTH, Joey The freely downloadable Reaper preview version also has the same functionality. http://www.cockos.com/forum/...

Thanks Alex. Much appreciated. Now we just need James to turn up.

I'd also love to get a UB of Warp drive. Would putting it on rapidshare or the like violate any elements of the EULA seeing it's shareware? If not, could you do that Dave?

Cheers.

Really, let me check that....well, send mute configuration is remembered in Mix mode here without any automation. I just tried it. I guess what I suggested might just make it a bit easier than going through and individually selecting the tracks that have a pre-fader send in operation but aren't in t...

Tripi. I still think your idea of muting sends on non-solo'd tracks would be a good option to have, but perhaps one way of working around the problem of having to keep track of which sends to unmute when you come out of solo mode is to use Mix mode. 1. Duplicate the mix before you go into solo mode....

Well - i thought of the muting everything except my bouncing tracks in a group..... Wouldn't it make sense to automatically mute the pre-send on a track if it is not active? Shouldn't this hold true for a non-solo'd track also? ahhhahahah thanks Gotcha. Yeah, it would make sense to at least be able...

Maybe I'm missing something, but how about muting the send?

Fantastic info guys. Thanks. Shooshie, that's pretty much what I was thinking with the backup computer. Switching a firewire cable should be able to be done in a few seconds and I know the MIO console picks up newly connected hardware really quickly. Sdemott, you've pretty much convinced me to go wi...

Thanks fellas. Those figures sound pretty encouraging, especially yours burn em', and I'll definitely be testing thoroughly before the event. The second computer will be for backup rather than running synced, so if one dies I can quickly switch the firewire interfaces over to the other machine. Stil...

Thanks Brad. The HD 24 does sound straightforward, but let's just say for arguments sake I go the DAW route and take a pair of G5s and a bunch of MH 2882 interfaces. It's for a rock festival so quiet sound sources wont be a trouble for the pres on the 2882 devices. How many tracks can I reliably exp...

Live recording gig questions

G'day. I'm hoping someone with some experience in this area can give me some advice. I've got myself a job doing live multi-tracked recordings at a largish festival. Never done anything anywhere near this big, but plenty of smaller jobs. I'm guessing at this stage their will be something like 32 or ...

Hi Skan. I also have a ULN-2 and yesterday did a session recording Talvin Singh at the Brisbane Powerhouse on a lowend MacBook C2D with a gig of ram and the stock hard drive using DP5.11. Two simultaneously recorded tracks (voice and tabla, 24/96) with 12 previously recorded tracks of Talvins playin...

5.11 hasn't even been released yet. Sometime in the next few weeks according to a forum member who was speaking to tech support around a month ago. The 5.12 confusion may have arisen due to a few recent posts referring to "5.1" as "5.11".
