Re: Long Recording Bug
Well, 8 minutes was the minimum time I got a crash, and that was some time ago. Normally took closer to a half hour. No doubt there were factors that interacted with the bugged code. I did search the forum, but didn't find a clear answer, nor the clear admission of the bug. Not doubting it's here, I...

Re: Long Recording Bug
You know this how? You work for MOTU? Same system would work fine with ProTools or Audition ... only DP had this problem.

Re: Long Recording Bug
Up to and including the final version of DP7, the bug bit me too often, even recording a simple stereo track @ 48k from the built in input. Sometimes would crash after as little as 8 minutes.

Long Recording Bug
I can't seem to find a "summary" on this one, so I'll take a chance and start it. Just recently, finally, upgraded to version 8. My gig is FOH at a mid-sized (2000 seat) busy (330 shows/year) venue. My recording needs mostly are for "internal use only", recording the whole show, ...

64 bits?
I searched before asking ... really. Is DP still a 32 bit app? I just tried to "load all to RAM" on BFD2 (having just installed 16G), and discovered it was running 32bit ... and then looked at Activity Monitor and realized that DP was doing that, so BFD had to follow suit. Is DP still 32 b...

Re: DP 7.22 crashing on long takes
Hi folks ... been on the road. Glad (in a perverse way) to see that whilst it's rare, I'm not the only one who's ever heard of this (as MOTU would have me believe). I don't have time to do their Q&A for them ... the real science that MOTU should be paying someone to do ... but I'm suspecting a h...

Re: DP 7.22 crashing on long takes
Stereo, 24bit/44.1K interleaved And, NO plugs enabled on this run. I know better. Plug folders stripped clean. I am beginning to localize this to an old, strange problem. Exactly one specimen of the 828MKII. I have been forced to review my notes (I keep them for years). I have had strange problems w...

DP 7.22 crashing on long takes
Big problem for me, as I often record long live performances. DP 7.22 just takes a powder after about 25 minutes or so. PLENTY of disk space and CPU capacity ... I thought it might have been a corrupt installation, but it's now confirmed on multiple machines under my supervision. Is this maybe a pro...

Re: DP Applescript Documentation
Well, gotta re-state my feeling that I've stumbled on some sort of "arrangement" ... between MOTU and some client who has the wherewithall to pay for it. And, someone who didn't figure on someone like me to go snooping about, so they left a trail I could follow. As a VERY OLD coder (does &...

Re: DP Applescript Documentation
First off, I also normally use DP "as is". This is a very unusual client/situation, and my (very rusty) coding skills have been helpful. What follows is of interest to geeks, and probably few others. And, I must admit I'm now sure that what's happening is not proof that DP is scriptable. I...

Re: DP Applescript Documentation
This isn't the way I usually do things. Special client, has to personally sort thru 600 + long WAV files, needs visuals. This is my quick solution. Working well now, thru trial & error ... hopefully won't need such things again. THANKS!

Re: DP Applescript Documentation
Well, matter of fact, I am getting it to do some useful things. Via Filemaker via C++ plugin I wrote for that platform. It looks like it does in fact respond to some subset of the "required suite" of commands. So there's obviously some code written and implemented ... not documented. I was...

DP Applescript Documentation
Hi all ... I'm trying to get DP to do things via Applescript. I note when I open DP's dictionary in the Applescript Editor, it's woefully empty. Only says it knows "doscript". Can't find any documentation on "doscript <what?>" ... the listing for common application commands is bl...

DP5 - OS 10.6 - corrupted sd2 files
Hi everybody ...
On the road, replaced old iBook with new Macbook Pro. Only had DP5 with me (wife now shipping my DP7 discs). Recorded super-super good live performance. sd2 files won't read. Peak says sample size is missing.
Anybody know of a recovery method?
