Re: reaction/drawing a line in DP is very slow
I've found some of the issues, for example drawing controllers improve when getting rid of all plugin windows that may be open in the background.

Re: reaction/drawing a line in DP is very slow
I've been experiencing similar issues since DP went 64bit. Does this look familiar? https://www.dropbox.com/s/md0fh73cnviw2sf/Fox-DP.m4v?dl=0 Although this is still an issue, I feel that it's improved slightly with 9.13. Has anyone else experienced this? Might be an idea to compare systems and GPU's...

Automating GUI on AU effects plugins
Hello!!
Back when I used Sonar on the PC, there was a way to assign a MIDI track and controller to any effects plugin to automate part of that effect. For example a filter sweep control or something like that.
Is there an easy way to do this in DP?
Stu

Re: Upgrading My DAW Computer - Looking For Advice
Script heavy instruments don't work at all without issues, other instruments work at first but stop working if left loaded for a while... example here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a2n6zkn6cqciud8/s-fox-datacapture-video.zip?dl=0 But Apple looked into this - agreed something wasn't right but couldn't w...

Re: Upgrading My DAW Computer - Looking For Advice
Thanks a lot for your thoughts - When I get my Mac Pro back from apple I'll look closely into whats going on when it's not performing as I'd expect. It's worth noting that it can't run a single instrument from Cinestrings in a single stand alone Kontakt at 512 though. I haven't got MenuMeters so I'l...

Re: Upgrading My DAW Computer - Looking For Advice
[Edit: to answer the questions: Its a mid 2010 Mac Pro: Xeon 2.93 westmere 12 core system. Issues replicated mainly in DP and VEP - but also in Kontakt stand alone running just one single instrument with various settings including a freshly formatted drive with a fresh OSX install.] I know it's not ...

Upgrading My DAW Computer - Looking For Advice
Don't know if I'm in the right section as my post is about mac / pc and DP optimisation so I thought it best to put it here. I'm currently running DP 8 on a 2010 2.93 12 core Mac Pro with 48GB Ram, 3 x 1TB Velocoraptors and 1 x 1TB SSD internally. The mac struggles with even my smaller templates, in...

All settings and preferences lost after 8.07 update
After updating to 8.07, all my preferences were gone which was pretty frustrating.
Anyone else had this, is there a way to restore them?

Re: DP 8.06 and Yosemite Beta OS X 10.10 (14A299l)
I don't beta test on my production machine, but I do like to test the latest software on non critical machines. For me there are reasons for wanting to go past 10.8 on my music mac, one if the big ones is multi monitor support is so much better in 10.9. Also, I know it's good to stick with a stable ...

Lol that's what I meant.
Yes, still on 10.8 for my studio mac and that's where it will stay for a while but it's good to have a non critical machine to run all the betas on and see what happens.

There's a utility called passify that let's you take all the components out of the driver install package and place them in the right locations manually. That's what you have to do with line 6 drivers for now.
Fun!

DP 8.06 and Yosemite Beta OS X 10.10 (14A299l)
I couldn't find any other threads with testing results on DP and 10.10 so I thought I'd post. Sorry if this has already been covered. I'm testing 10.10 public beta on a MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010) 1.6 core 2 duo with 4GB ram. Right now, DP is pretty much unusable. When playback is running, the ...

Re: best way to record an electric cello in DP8
Thanks a lot for the tips. Some of my first attempts (cues for a documentary) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2502628/festivals/17_19_00_angelitos_1.mp3 https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2502628/festivals/20_38_00_bull2.mp3 I think the answer might be to much the amp up to give it the space - ...

best way to record an electric cello in DP8
Hi guys, I am now the proud owner of one of these: http://www.nedsteinberger.com/instruments/nxt_cello.php Anyone know the best way to get a nice recording out of it. The documentation says that you need to run this instrument (piezo pickups) through a pre-amp - Do I need an extra hardware preamp be...
