Re: M4 and headphones question
Thanks Mike! Well, further investigation led me to the conclusion that it's the jack/cable of the headphone. I screwed on a 6.3 mm adapter from another headphone and bingo, the DT880 works again without distortion. Well, that was strange, especially the thing about no distortion form youtube but fro...

M4 and headphones question
Just got a new M4 and I had the problem of distorted sound as described by quite a few users all over the internet. It turned out to be the headphones in my case... The problem I had was that audio from VIs was distorted at any level and sampling frequency, but system audio not. I suspected the cabl...

Re: Wanting a solid control surface for DP 9.5
I'm also thinking (again) about getting a controller. It's along time since I fiddled with this sort of stuff, but it seems that you could (if your nerdy enough and have the time) to almost setup something like the X-Touch in any way you want using something like Max. At least that's what I'm gettin...

Re: High Sierra and MOTU 828Mk3 FW
Just an idea: did you ever check System settings->Security, tab "general" after connecting the interface and loading CueMix/DP? There might be a message/warning and a button to allow the driver to load. My memory might fool me here, but I think I once had to allow something to load there a...

Re: New Macbook Pro
Did you try the trick with a new account?
I.e. make a new account on the Macbook with admin rights, switch to this new account (or log out and log in to the new account) and try to authorize from the new account.

Re: Ultralite mkIII loses FW connection
Didn't help.
When I tried to reset the Ultralite I realized that the
Param knob didn't work (pressing function worked, but turning
the knob had no effect).
I sent it to the local support (I'm in Europe), I'll post the result.
Thanks for the support!

Re: Ultralite mkIII loses FW connection
Thanks, had to send it to support, suddenly the Param Knob wasn't functioning anymore.
Hope that this is somehow related to the connection problems, because I really tried everything (OK, a complete reinstall of the OS would be the last thing to try).

(the sig is still up to date)

Ultralite mkIII loses FW connection
I've got a strange problem since about 2 weeks: my Ultralite mkIII drops the audio after about 30 seconds (I'm currently using it for system audio output only, choosing it with alt+click from the Volume slider in the Finder). iTunes for example stops playing (transport bar stops) when this happens. ...

Re: Just bought DP7 crossgrade, my laptop has no CD drive
Home now and still no joy... :( With the USB external connected I just get stuck in a loop of entering my name and key code in the box, hearing the CD spin up and then the dialog box coming up again asking for the CD, name and key code. If the issue isn't resolved yet: make a second user-account on...

Re: mp3 player for my webpage
With so many iOS devices out there I'd look for a player that works without flash or switches between flash and non flash version.

Re: Best PORTABLE Digi recorder
What's the price range? There are quite a few models in a price region above the ones on your list. Below a certain price point mics will always be a compromise. Maybe you should also think about an inexpensive recorder and external mics/one external stereo mic. I tested a lot of models for my perso...

Re: The very REAL consequences of Music Software Piracy
We're not talking in this thread about open source software, or public license or any of that. We're talking about the hard work and great investment in man hours and capital being stolen. :( Of course I know the difference between "open source" or "open" and pirated software, a...

Re: The very REAL consequences of Music Software Piracy
If someone's interested in a more philosophical view (and with a broader scope) on the issues and implications of the "open" and "free" movement/culture, read the book by Jaron Lanier (you are not a gadget). A very good book (at least in my opinion) by one of the founders of digi...

Re: Cinema Display Goes Touch Screen!
I'm seriously thinking about a Wacom Cintiq as my main Monitor. A played around a few times with the big one, it's addictive! And it has a cool stand that lets you tilt the monitor, you can work with it like a desk. And working with a pen is more precise than with fingers. Still rather expensive tho...
