I don't understand. Why not just record the vocals the way they sound? Let the singer sing... and adjust the level afterwards. Ride faders, compress, automate, do it all... but let him sing and adjust your recording level for the loudest parts. because he is a heavy metal singer, and he will clip. ...

so would the inserted effects i add to the dialogue be rendered if i did it this way as well?

so i will have between 200-500 dialogue files that will need to be cleaned up a bit, etc, and then bounced out of DP. howdo i bounce out all of these files? would i use export selected bites? i cant just bounce the audio track as a whole because i would have to go back in and re-edit all of the dial...

i was more concerned about the loud parts clipping than the noise on the quieter parts. the booth is very quiet, and the mic and ultralite should not have any significant noise on the quieter parts. i just didnt want to lose a great loud part or metal scream due to clipping, so i thought compression...

ok, i got it fixed. i re-checked all of my options and now the chunks are back.

can dp handle 200-400 markers? i know pro tools was a bit weird about that. the script does not have any chronology to it since its for a game, and it depends on events and clicks instead of a linear timeline, so it should be easy from that point. i think i will get a dialogue cue sheet set up with ...

i use dp 5.13( or .14 cant remember).

so you are saying that every time you record a line of dialogue, you mark it, and then go on to the next marking all of them in succession?

what if you need another take of the same line?
