Re: TC PoCo VSS3

After having a system 6000, i ditched it a few years back and got VSS3 - have never had any regrets about that decision. It's a GREAT verb - easy to use and sounds silky and overall fantastic. I paid less than the stated price as well through a large retailer - i think around $400 - well worth it!

I used to have one - it uses an external power supply that is "voltage-specific". I had one in Africa that was 240v, then I had to get a new power supply when I came back to the States.

Cheers!

Try USB Plugsound Pro - it's the closest thing I've found to a 5080-type library. I suggest getting the Synth Anthology expansion with it.

I get around this by just sending a little CC#7 info before I record the track. It sets the fader to your controller value, and keeps it, unless you send it other info or turn on automation. At first it was a pain, but it has become habit. Always something, isn't it???

Just did it myself - I'm running DP, PT LE, and Logic on the same computer -
Actually have them up at the same time for certain things. The new MBox Micro is great for just learning the software and prepping sessions - no audio input, but it's around $250. Good luck!

I guess I've gotten used to playing with a bit of latency, as am sure everyone has by now. I use MOTU hardware only. Here's my 2 cents with regard to VI latency. I run DP with a 128 buffer setting, and latency is acceptable. If I need to up it to 256, it gets tough to play parts that have critical t...

I always enter patches in the "Default Patch" column - then, if you want to delete it, you select "Clear Default Patch" in the mini-menu. I never figured out how to clear the patch from the "Patch" column either.

Thanks for putting these samples up - I rely on Ivory every day in my productions, and feel it's pretty close to having the real deal - it's very musical, responds well to dynamics, and speaks well in tracks. It's also very versatile in terms of sonic control, not to mention the different piano samp...

After 6 months of trying to get the PCI-e POCO card to work with my Intel-MacPro, it finally worked with the new v3 update. So far, so good, although I'm waiting for the crashes to start (what a pessimist!!).... When I was using my old POCO card in my old G5, it was completely solid for a couple of ...

MachFive2 gets my vote. It's much simpler to use (at least initially) than Kontakt, is VERY stable, and comes with a nice library. You can also get the PlugSound expansions to play in it - from the sounds of it, you might like the Synth Anthology pak - lots of samples from DX-7, M1, D-50, and older ...

Yes - this problem bugged me as well - it took all the coolness out of the way L8 handles VIs. Also, one instance of Mach5v2 with 16 parts was killing my CPU (even on my 8-core) - so, I was told to use a separate instance of Mach5 for every part played - this fixed SO many things - no more strange a...
