Re: Using Mach 5 with Macbook pro
I'm a DP user who is awaiting a new Macbook Pro (2.5 GHz, 4GB RAM, 7200 RPM HD) to arrive and I was wondering if this will be able to run Mach 5 reasonably well .... Also, I was hoping to keep the sample library on an external Firewire 800 or USB 2.0 drive. I am currently using an mkIII with my fir...

Thanks for your responses bjornln. I will definitely check with Motu before I buy. I use a bus powered keyboard controller so I'm hoping this won't be an issue with power. I am using a Motu Mk3 for my external audio so I guess that will limit my FW800 down to FW400. I'm thinking that I probably shou...

second try
Judging from lack of responses -I probably asked either too many questions or some dumb ones (sorry I'm a Mach5 newbie) I'll try one question at a time: Can Mach 5 run on a Mac Book Pro? Some posters on Sweetwater complain that it can't because it has a dongle. I don't know why a laptop couldn't use...

Using Mach 5 with Macbook pro
I'm a DP user who is awaiting a new Macbook Pro (2.5 GHz, 4GB RAM, 7200 RPM HD) to arrive and I was wondering if this will be able to run Mach 5 reasonably well. I have never used Mach 5 but I have been wanting to get a sampler for years and I'm contemplating taking the plunge. I see many posts with...

Hi rmack, How does the back of your 828 look? Mine had the spdif and word clocks pushed up to the top of the cut out in the back panel, preventing me from putting a spdif cable all the way in. I gave it a little push down, now I can get the cable in. It's a tad lose now. Are your spdif and word clo...

I have had my mk3 for a day now and I'm happy. I was careful to upload all latest firmware and drivers before getting started as to avoid some problems I had read about here earlier. So far, I have mainly used it as a standalone mixer and everything is working very nicely. I am awaiting a new macboo...

I have the same thing. I just bought my 828 mk3 yesterday and when I switch it off, my Mackie H824's make a very large buzz. I have everything plugged into a Furman power conditioner, so for now I just power everything down using the Furman's master switch. I'm not sure I like this work around, howe...
