YOu really should check out LaChapell Audio: http://www.lachapellaudio.com/ They have the 583 which is a lunchbox model and is very similar to their flagship 992. The 992 just got reviewed by TapeOp and the called it a instant classic, really a great review. I have the 992 EG and there is simply not...

I've been looking at adding some analog to the signal path myself and have been looking at the Toft Audio mixers. I've heard good things first hand about them but havent "heard" them yet. The components in each channel are theoretically changeable so modification and service is possible. T...

Let me add to the Dell. I have 2 24" Dell's for my workstation. I bought them from the refurb outlet online and saved some more. Then, one of them went out and they took care of it immediately. Sent out a new one and I sent back the old one once it came. Price, service, and now quality cant be ...

What is the setup? Will he be running the Rosetta via Lightpipe into the 896? Can you be a bit more specific, I'm sure we can figure something out.

This is much more of a boutique type of preamp, but the Lachapell 992 is simply amazing. It is certainly colored because of the tubes, but man, is it sweet. The list of users is growing impressively. Brad Paisely and Lynn Fuston to name a couple. Check out this link, pretty impressive endorsement: h...

While on a recent trip to Amsterdam, I stopped in at a shop that advertised absinthe just to see what it was all about. The shop owner explained it all and how you prepare it with the sugar cube, but then went on to say that he only has tried it once. He told me that Pastis is basically Absinthe wit...

What I had to do, was turn off Airport on the MBP, and boot Logic to get around that. I was too lazy to run down to the studio and turn off the tower. So you can run them both at the same time, if you dont let them know that there are two running at the same time. So you can still take one on the ro...

Which, Frodo, is true. I have it on both my MacPro and MacBook Pro and I fired it up on the laptop and got this error, something to the effect of, "Logic Pro with the same serial number is currently running on another computer on this network." Or something like that... Just a byproduct of...

I think basically most of us will agree that the two issues that are really important to us are STABILITY and PERFORMANCE. This is exactly right. To this, I would add CREATIVITY. I have to hand it to Logic in that, to me, it feels very creative. I can very quickly and easily get from open ap, to re...

I have yet to delve into the depths of L8. The few things that I have noticed that DP does so well, are MIDI effects. The object system seems still to be intact in Logic, which was one thing that scared me away from it. I dont want to have to "rig up" an arpeggiator, I just want one to be ...

I have a Reflexion filter as well, and, if not careful, can have the same issue.

Those things are great in theory but they are so heavy that I wonder if they are useful. I have to have mine balanced just right, even on a solid stand, lowered with a heavy base.

I don't think Native Instruments has this problem anymore as you can manage the authorized computers online. For instance, I have Komplete on a Receptor, a MacPro and Mac Book Pro. I used to have it on a PC laptop instead of the MBP. When I tried to install Komplete, it said I had used up all the au...

Actually the MAIN hurdle will be the fact that people dont care about art or album. Pop music is certainly not about good art. In order for Rick Rubin's vision of music as art to be successful, there has to be a change in the public.

Thats a tall order indeed.

Im not so sure that subscriptions wont work. I wasnt a fan of the concept until I tried it. I bought a Sansa Rhapsody for some research I was doing. I used the Real Rhapsody subscription model that it recommende. It is $14.99 a month. What I am finding now, is that I never download music, where befo...
