Re: Drum tracks, samples and loops for 3/4, 12/8, 7/8 metres
Ah - I'd never thought of it from that point of view. But what about the drummer edit thingy in Logic - I haven't played with it much but it seems that if you change metre in the sequence it attempts to replicate that in the drums. Or have I got that wrong?

Re: Drum tracks, samples and loops for 3/4, 12/8, 7/8 metres
Thanks - yes I've done that in the past. It's just such a tedious process and I was just sort of hoping that there might be a magic bullet in DP which I'd missed somehow. And I forgot to mention my frustrations with triplets - I totally agree with you. And don't get me going about 3/4 being an 'odd'...

Drum tracks, samples and loops for 3/4, 12/8, 7/8 metres
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I haven't been able to find anything. I write quite a lot of songs in 12/8, 3/4, 7/8 etc and it is really difficult to find drum loops which are suitable for these metres. I notice that in some sequencers there is a drum editor where you can manipulat...

Saving an .omf file
Hi -
I've been trying to save a couple of songs as .omf files but I keep getting this message:
OMFI_ERR: Failed a semantic check on input data (OMF error code = 194)
Anybody got any ideas?

Memory - F Grand Piano and Telematic, etc
Hi Every time I load the Fazioli piano or Telematic guitar I find that DP shuts down after playing 1 or 2 measures. I'm using a Mac Pro with 13GB of memory - I know it's a strange amount of memory (can't think how I ended up with it!) but I would have though it ought to be sufficient. I don't think ...

Thanks - that's interesting. Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Loops - Triplets, 12/8, 3/4 etc
Hi Does anybody know whether it's possible to buy drum loops for Machfive which accommodate 3/4, 12/8 or triplet patterns? A quick search around the internet suggests that these are 'exotic and unusual' and you'll get perhaps one loop in a set of 200 which makes it rather expensive. Or is there some...

Re: Trashing Preferences
Thanks. Yes, that's good advice about keeping the prefs on the desktop. There were 2 files in question - 1 that I was working on when it crashed and another that I've been working on earlier today.

Trashing Preferences
I can't remember where to find DPs preferences so that I can trash them. Following a crash, DP is reluctant to launch and when it eventually does I'm unable to open files. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Re: Triggering loops (and stopping them!)
Yes that's it! Thank you very much. I now wish I'd asked the question a week ago which would have saved me a lot of grief!

Re: Triggering loops (and stopping them!)
Hmm - sorry - tried turning it off but it didn't make any difference. There must be something basic I'm doing wrong!

Re: Triggering loops (and stopping them!)
Yes I'm sure I'm not expressing it correctly. What I'm doing is double clicking on the Machfive 3 'track' in DP to get to the Machfive window. The I double click where it says 'empty' in what I believe is called a part (it says part next to 'Tree,' 'List', and 'Browse,') and then I go to Universal L...

Re: Triggering loops (and stopping them!)
Thanks for your help and advice. I think I'm not being clear. I am totally familiar with loading instruments such as pianos and guitars and playing them via a track/channel in DP. But when I select a drum loop in a part it just continues to play whenever the sequence is running. So if I want to alte...

Re: Triggering loops (and stopping them!)
But if I choose a loop it just keeps playing forever - what am I missing?
