Re: 828 MK3 w/ Firewire no sound or visual response in or ou
Yes, the MOTU is the only thing I've got on the Firewire bus. This was making me think that it was in fact the Firewire port on my computer and not the MOTU's problem. I hooked it up via USB and everything worked like a charm, so I tried it back and forth Firewire and USB for a little while. The Fir...

Re: 828 MK3 w/ Firewire no sound or visual response in or ou
Ok I should add, when I launch the MOTU audio setup once I turn on the 828mk3, there is a message at the bottom that reads, "Bandwidth not available, please reduce the number of devices on the bus, reduce the sample rate, or disable some banks." It doesn't always say this, only occasionall...

828 MK3 w/ Firewire no sound or visual response in or out
Hello everyone, I am running an 828 Mk3 Hybrid via firewire into an iMac with OS 10.5 and it has all of a sudden stopped giving me any audio in or out of the system. My last session I had to do a few complete restarts but as of today I can't get it to run at all. Cuemix will launch and even though I...

Re: Expanding inputs on a 828mkIII FW (no hybrid)
Ok well it looks like I actually purchased a bad batch of cables... Incredibly noisy when you'd touch them and wouldn't consistently transfer the clock data. I stole a whole other bunch of cables from another system I've got and now everything is fine. I knew MOTU would never let me down... Thanks a...

Re: Expanding inputs on a 828mkIII FW (no hybrid)
I hope this thread is still live... I'm actually attempting to setup an 828 mkIII hybrid (via firewire) to two Focusrite Octopre Dynamics. I have setup multiple systems in the past with 8pre's, 828 mkII's, other 828 mkIII's etc, so I'm no stranger to ADAT and digital sync as well as the problems it ...

Yeah the more info the better, thanks. Upon further searching I've found people asking the same questions about this new agere firewire chipset with no answers. I'm beginning to wonder what WILL work with this chipset, if anything. If anyone uses a mac post October '07 that uses this chipset please ...

Macbook firewire and MOTU Question
Hello, currently I am using Logic 8 with a Macbook (not pro) 2.2 Ghz. I am using a presonus firestudio project at the moment. I have problems with it apparently because I have the Agere chipset in my built in firewire card and Presonus has told me that as of now they are not compatible. I'm thinking...
