Re: Annoying Start-up Ritual
Zed, Wheever, and Williemeyer, Thank you so much for your input! I watched the sample rate display on the 002 (for the first time ever) as I booted up DP. The default sample rate is 44.1 on the 002. The sessions I'm opening are 44.1 as well. Anyway, as I opened DP, the sample rate display on the 002...

Re: Annoying Start-up Ritual
What a Tool! Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers here...just looking for some advice. My issue is a "minor annoyance" you seem to be more annoyed w/me than I am w/my start-up routine. I am certainly not expecting, or begging, or demanding anything of any of you. I am simply hoping that some...

Once I go through the "ritual" DP works great, absolutely rock solid..
Isn't there anyone out there that uses digi hardware and has found a solution for this???

Annoying Start-up Ritual
Virtually every time I launch DP (5.13, 6.03, or 7.24) I have to go through this rather involved process: -Launch DP…goes fine until…. -“The Audio Hardware did not respond…..” -I’m given a choice of hardware set-up or studio set-up -I choose either one and “ok” it. -DP continues to load and asks me ...

Re: More advice, Please?
"Freeze" is the more accurate word. Once a MIDI track is frozen, it is used as an audio track, with the MIDI track disabled. It takes more CPU power to create virtual instruments "live" than to play back their recorded audio. I know the advantages of freezing tracks. I have thou...

Re: More advice, Please?
I'm not sure that I understand.....
How about the possibility of installing my Garritan libraries (and K2 player?) on my Glyph drive? Would this be beneficial??
Sorry, but I'm not following your directions.

Re: More advice, Please?
Try get a used G5 or 2 that you can use for VI's as a MIDI playback using MMC and output the sound into the 002. That will take some of the load off of your iMac and spread the CPU load. Can you explain how this is done? I would love to find a more economical way of achieving smoother work flow and...

More advice, Please?
I joined this forum about a year ago. I have used Performer since it's first versions (on floppy!) Last year I entered the world of DP and VIs. I had many, many questions and I learned an enormous amount from many of the members of this group. I'm hoping that I can tap into this vast wealth of knowl...

thank you all for your replies. I'm not sure I've been extremely clear. So.. how about an example: Sequence starts...no problem...footpedal triggers and we're off... get to middle of tune...into dialogue vamp. current sequence ends and cues up next sequence (meanwhile, vamp is played by all availabl...

It is crucial that I use the MIDI tracks for several reasons. Tempo changes requested by the director or choregrapher. If I have a musician that misses a performance (or is weak) I can use the MIDI track. I can change balance to fit the moment. I will be balancing human players w/virtual players, I ...

Cueing chunks in live performance
I've just finished sequencing he entire score for the musical "Sweet Charity". I used DP 5.12 and 2 Garritan Libraries: Jazz & Big Band and Personal Orchestra. The score sounds fantastic!! I'll need to be able to trigger each music cue (about 60) accurately as I will be conducting a bu...
