I have 828 Mk II & ADA8000. My clock source on motu is set to internal and ADA8000 is slaved to word clock.
Works without any problems for me. Maybe you could try that if you have word clock cable available.

okso this seems to have fixed the dropped audio but it still does not like being buffered up or down, it completely crashes my host, this only happens within the host. What do you mean by "being buffered up or down" ? Using ASIO control panel from host software to adjust buffer settings ?...

Oh, one more thing: I think that there are some Windows USB fixes in XP Service Pack 3.
If possible, you might consider installing it.
