With this input to my 2408MKII I get only a hiss. It's the signal from a condenser mic to a mic pre through an AD/DA convertor( the 24bit 44.1 digi signal to the 2408). However, a signal(line level from a CD player works just fine. Is this correct?

Dowloaded the update for 424PCIe again, shut down, restarted and the MOTU console still says there is no 424 card detected. Any suggestions?
