Re: SSD Boot and Samples?
They're too thick. If you go to barefeats they did a shoot out with the veloci's and some ssd's and other drives. They say it won't fit, as it's not as thin as a conventional 2.5".

HD192 vs 896HD Pros and Cons
I know they are different all together, but my main concerns are. Can I track 16 channels via the 896HD on my Mac Pro or Mac Book Pro (not at the same time)? How good are the mic pres on the 896HD's Will 2 896's be as rock solid as an HD192? I currently run a 2408 MK3 and 1296, they run rock solid. ...

Re: A Little Guidance?
I actually feel that same way - regarding the converters. That's why I want to start building up with better mic pres, and also I totally agree with you about the mics. As stated I sold a lot of gear that I just wasn't using much and as far as mics, I now have an AKG C3000, AT 4033, 2 sm57's and 2 s...

Re: SSD Boot and Samples?
The Velociraptors don't fit and I'm trying to keep the Firewire bus open for an interface, I may even get an 896HD. Then my express card slot would be open for a UAD solo. So I guess it looks like I may be getting an SSD. Thanks.

SSD Boot and Samples?
I am considering upgrading my laptop. Mac Book Pro 2.4GHz, 4GB Ram. I currently run a couple of SATA external drives for Samples and Recording. With the Advent of the new SSD's I was wondering if should just get a 250 GB SSD. Would I get good performance if I used it as my boot drive and for my Samp...

Re: MIDI Learn / Controller Mapping
Well I just started on Logic. Digital Performer is my main DAW but I have been trying to stream line my set up. I like that I can pretty much have a sound that I use in my X3 Live and then via POD Farm import that exact sound when it's time to record. I'll have to check the commands thing out. I rea...

MIDI Learn / Controller Mapping
Was wondering if DP6 or even DP7 have a MIDI learn function, such as Live and Logic? I am using POD Farm and would like to be able to use my POD X3 Live to control it when recording. For whatever reason Line 6 didn't give it MIDI capabilities in Plug-In Mode so I need a way to map the parameters. I ...

Re: Syncing Dp and Live without rewire
Figured it out. I guess my brain had to sort back to my studio vision days and syncing that to pro tools. Oh the good ol' days on my 7100/80. IAC is the bomb!!!!!

Syncing Dp and Live without rewire
Would love if anyone could help out with a dilemma. I am really digging Pod Farm/Gear Box, I already own a POD X3 Live and love that I can pretty much port the sounds I use on my POD X3 over to POD Farm via Gear Box and it cuts down on set up time when I finally want to use those sounds when recordi...

Yeah I think I commented on that thread regarding the HD RAID setup. I here you on the internal HD's, I ended up buying a G5 Jam and a G5 Jive for my current set up. Everything seemed to work great. I only got up to 5 Drives though. This time around I will probably also go out side the box. I am hop...

Selling my Wiebetech G5 Jam and G5 Jive
If anyone is interested I am selling a G5 2.0 (M9455LL/A - the good one) on eBay but was thinking that someone here may have use for my G5 Jam or G5 Jive for extra internal storage. If anyone is interested let me know as I have the whole set up selling on eBay, but I am willing to part it out. Wiebe...

Yes!!!!! Thank you for seeing that - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I knew Maxconnect made a 9 HD kit for the G5's was looking into it for mine, but I have a 2.66 Mac Pro being delivered on Thursday and was wondering how I would use the other 2 ports. (forgot to check Maxconnect) I ended up buying...

Regarding #4 - Don't know why you would need to get independent eSata II enclosures, aren't you still able to run the drives separately (not in a raid). I thought the mulitplier was just taken advantage of the full bandwidth. You should still be able to run your drives in RAID or Indie, so if you al...
