Your MIDI timing issue may be resolved by enabling the "Use system time stamp" radio button. Goto Devices/Set-up devices/windows MIDI.

I was using Cubase SX3 on a PC laptop to record a large jazz band. All analog inputs from all three units were available within SX. I have not tried multiple units with Live.

One difficulty in re-installing is that the MFWAkeys.exe process launches on start-up.
