Re: Mysterious transient noise (like a lightning storm)

I get this same dang noise happening to me all the time with my 2408mk3 and 2408mk2 connected to a PCI-424e. Sometimes it occurs using Aggregate Devices and sometimes it occurs using solely the PCI-424. I'm curious if it's a driver or OS extension?

2048 and spdif sync

I have a 2408 mk3 and a mk2 with a Lexicon MX200 going in and out via the mk2's spdif. I hear a really high pitched tone (very soft though) and get random pops. I know it's a sync issue between the lexicon and the PCIe-424 card I have. If I plug the lexicon into the spdif on the mk3 I still have the...

2408 mk2 on PCI-424e?

Hey everyone that reads this,

Will a 2408 mk2 work on a PCI-424e card? If so, will it work as an expansion to a 2408 mk3? In other words, can I have a mk3 and a mk2 on one PCI-424e card?

Thanks for the input!

Okay, I figured it out...thanks for all the help though!! I'm sure everyone's going to be saying "why??" So I have PCs going into my 2408 digitally but I have the 2408 going out to an analog board - yes, that's where the problem was. Only reason I didn't think that before was I used to hav...

2408 mk3 high pitch noise...

I have the 2408 mk3 plugged into a Mac Pro 8-core thru the 424-PCIx card and I'm getting a really high pitched tone in my recordings. When I playback the MIDI sampled instruments I'm using I don't hear the tone. But when I record it to a audio track (or bounce it), that's when I hear the tone. I tho...

I have the 8-core with 8GB of RAM and I can load tons of stuff up so far and still have like 3GB left. I'm guessing your hard drive disk speed would run out before you use up 8GB of memory. Although, if you can afford the extra 12GB of memory, you might as well get it.
