I, a human, have to PROVE to a robot that I am not a robot.
Got those all the time, particularly when I’m using a VPN. Some sites will ask, others simply will NOT work w/Nord at all. Won’t the a credit card either. Frustrating. I use DDG as my search since they don’t track. I’d say it’s about 80% of Google. If I’m doing research for teaching I’ll switch to G...

Re: Noteperformer: Regretfully, we no longer support VST3 hosting.
Mike, If I'm not mistaken it doesn't effect NPs own sound engine but the ability to load and use 3rd party libraries, correct? It's terrible that Yamaha wouldn't/couldn't work something out. I've been using NP with Sibelius for a bunch of years and I have to say that out of the box-no frills it work...

Re: New SoundCloud TOS makes you grant rights to use uploads to train AI!
This is getting really interesting for me. I actually like that they're an EU company as their privacy rules seem better than ours (I might feel different if I was on the other side of this equation - the tech mogul monetizing everyone's info. Actually, I wouldn't.). It doesn't seem to be designed a...

Re: New SoundCloud TOS makes you grant rights to use uploads to train AI!
Leigh, Thank you. Never heard of them. Since I’m using whatever to stream, not directly promoting of selling, this approach makes some sense. As mainly a “concert music” guy I can see that a 30” limit could be an issue. I don’t have anything currently longer 1 moment pieces that bother mark, but I c...

Re: New SoundCloud TOS makes you grant rights to use uploads to train AI!
F*ck. I’ve had a paid account connected to my website for years. I don’t want my music to be put into their wood chipper either. So now what? Anyone have a suggestion of an alternative place to host that they like and trust? I don’t use it for sales, no downloads, just streaming for perusal. Thx. Se...

Re: OT RANT: Boz Digital: WTH?
Mike,
I still haven't received an email from them! I only saw it because of KVR email. The email I received didn't make it clear that it was all 3 rilling into one. That's a nice surprise! I just downloaded it.

Re: backing up Dropbox to an external drive? RESOLVED
Hi All, Successfully closing off this thread as I was able to get CCC to backup my critical DB files onto a pair of external drives. In this day and age you never know, I have a lot of very important files up there and not much of a safety net, so I decided to make to copies from the source. You nev...

Re: backing up Dropbox to an external drive?
If I'm getting this right it might be simplest to upgrade my ancient copy of CCC for $38 and buy a Seagate 5TB external USB 3.0 drive FOR $120.
Laboriously copy it all over, set up CCC and let is run.
Thoughts?

Re: backing up Dropbox to an external drive?
Hi Mike, I get part of what you are saying. Yup, I know the green check vs cloud icon. Thankfully I have yet to have issues accessing my individual files or folders with DB, setting aside that I need an active internet connection so travel can present problems. The only time I've ever had an issue w...

Re: backing up Dropbox to an external drive?
Thanks Mike. So drag and drop *will* work even if the file(s) are in the cloud, or do I have to set to be local on the HD? And I guess having them copy/replace backs up newer versions, versus using CCC etc. to automate it? Just curious of what happens if file X is online, not off, when I drag. Might...

backing up Dropbox to an external drive? RESOLVED
I have many, many work files up on my Dropbox - teaching materials, my scores, etc. A little over 2 TB of files, too much to set all to live on either of my boot HDs. Most of the folders/files are set to be online only so they don't eat up my HD until I bring them down as needed for work. It all wor...

Re: Why am I seeing two grids?
Once in a while I will get this and it always that the tick is set to something weird like dotted 8th when I’m in 1/4 note based meters. I also audibly notice it by the MIDI click. The weird thing? I never set it that way. I’m not sure how or why it happened. It’s random. I assume it’s me, pilot err...
