Most of them are Roland Yamaha though.
Wait, I'm talking about going the other way around, loading stuff ON to my keyboard, not pulling from it into files.

I've always wondered how to do this, myself. Not so much for drum replacement, but augmentation. Back in college, one of the profs demonstrated using a low frequency sine wave to boost the sub-end of the kick drum. We were using Pro Tools, and I think he was using a compressor to track volume on the...

bullsh••. I'm using it now. Who at MOTU said that? Obviously they didn't know what they're talking about. MOTU as a whole has never made any official statement that they didn't support it. Now, currently, EWQLSO has some difficulty with Leopard and Intel, but if you use Kontakt instead of the (provi...

I emailed Alesis, and they told me that the only way to get a sample onto the QS8 is via their propriatary software, SoundBridge... which, btw, they no longer is available to supported. I guess each synth has its own file format or something? Should I believe that, or is that just some default answe...

SysEx dumps...

I know that this isn't exactly DP related, but I knew some of you might have an answer for me about this. I've got an old Alesis keyboard, (a QS8), of which they've completely stopped making software for. I'd like to load a few samples over, and I heard that pretty much all keyboards use standard Sy...

You're very welcome. I was just through this not but 3 weeks ago, so I know what you're going through. Yeah, Kompakt doesn't play nice with intel or Leopard, BUT it will stay open long enough to register the software. That's what happened. For me, I actually was able to keep it open long enough to o...

Yes, I dealt with this problem just about a month ago, and was finally successfull, I'll try to help you as best I can. First of all, you must run the EWQLSO Gold Kompakt application once, after having registered it in the Service Center, to get things working (so you can use it in Kontakt). I know ...

Good good. Yeah, I've got a good pop screen. Its a bit heavy, and tends to slide down the mic stand, but it's done wonders to my sound. I've been recording on a Beta58 up til now, and I've been able to get "decent" results with some EQing, but it's probably time for a condenser. Unfortunat...

The problem with Oktava's is that while they innitially started at around $100, it's now almost impossible to find them at less than $250 a piece, or maybe $475 for a pair, due to demand. They inched up, pricewise, pretty drastically. Also, there have been major issues with chinese knockoffs (the MC...

Sorry for the double post, but I did want to ask this. Someone mentioned Oktava mics, and I've seen that name come up a bit. But I can't seem to find them anywhere. Will someone give me some specifics on where to find these mics for the prices people are telling me. Also, are they large diaphram or ...

What you have to consider when buying mics is, are you in it for the long haul, or are you going to stop recording in a couple of years and give everything away? If you're in it for the long haul, buying cheap mics is money down the drain. Buying mics you're still going to be using ten years from n...

I'm glad Apple gave us the option to get rid of that stupid transparent menu bar, made the menus less translucent. About friggin' time. It hasn't bothered me personally because I use a black&white photo as my desktop background, but that's just a coincidence. It was a disgrace to apple's good n...
