Re: DP 8 feels sluggish compared to 7.24
Yeah, I've noticed that too. I forgot to mention in my post that I also rebuilt my template from a clean DP 8 empty project.

DP 8 feels sluggish compared to 7.24
Anyone else finding DP 8 to be sluggish compared to 7.24? I'm using a pretty big template (80 - 100 tracks but no VI's just ReWire MIDI to Bidule and then FX on the returns). This works reasonably well in DP 7.24 but I have long been critical of the graphic redraws on 7 (especially when scrolling). ...

DP 8, Clippings and Duplicate ReWire MIDI Outputs
I'm having an issue where every time I drag a clipping containing a MIDI track that outputs to a ReWire MIDI output, I wind up getting a duplicate of that ReWire MIDI output in the MIDI output menu. Drag 7 clippings, get 7 identically named ReWire MIDI outputs, but only the most recent one works. Th...

Re: "Attach MIDI Device" How to Save???
The MIDI controls always stay active for me even after save (DP 7.12). I usually have the controls already assigned in my template and when I load it, my control surface is able to control whatever I have setup. I gave up using DP's control surface integration a long time ago and prefer to use my ow...

Send Mixer Settings
Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to get DP to send the current mixer settings to external devices without reloading the project file. I know I can use automation snapshots to write the mixer state to the sequence, but often times I don't use automation and just set static values for volume and ...

Re: Fixed/Not fixed/Broken in DP 7.1
Can you think of a DAW that does that? That would be a massive undertaking, requiring endless updates and would be subject to failing every time any VI developer put out an update. I'm not even sure it would be possible without all developers coming up with some kind of standard, and even then not ...

Re: Fixed/Not fixed/Broken in DP 7.1
I created a new project file with 7.1 and both problems I was experiencing have disappeared. The time range selection in TO now behaves as it normally does and the chasing problems I was experiencing have also vanished. I supposed it's a good idea to start fresh with a new project file (and possibly...

Re: Fixed/Not fixed/Broken in DP 7.1
I have had a few experiences in the past where some CC's would be reseting every time I hit play. Usually it was due to another track earlier in a large session that had written CC for the same channel. With event chasing on, DP will see the last CC setting for a given channel and then jump to that...

Re: Fixed/Not fixed/Broken in DP 7.1
Is it me or is DP 7.1 not chasing MIDI CC's? I'm working on a cue, and I have CC #83 setup to control send level in Kontakt. Usually, I just twiddle a knob on my control surface and leave it at that. DP 7.1 seems to be reseting all CC's when playback starts, which means I have to record the CC to th...

Re: Fixed/Not fixed/Broken in DP 7.1
My usual way of making a selection in the tracks window is not working... In previous version I'd select a few bars at the top of the tracks window then click once on one of the tracks from my long list to isolate something eg 2 bars of snare Then command R to repeat a bunch of bars. In 7.1 all see...

Re: DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (at least for me)!
Yeah, you have to either use the Rewire MIDI ports (which are delay compensated) or use the time shift plugin to pull your MIDI tracks earlier. You can easily figure out the amount of ticks to set the time shift to by quantizing a drum track 100% and playing it back with the audio metronome. From th...

Re: Saw DP7.1 at NAMM Today!!!
How many sequences do you have in the project you are having difficulty saving and do they each have 16 instances of Kontakt loaded or are you using V-Racks for the 16 instances? well, I was initially duplicating sequences (with VI's) for each cue. (didn't want to make tweaks to one cue and have th...

Re: Saw DP7.1 at NAMM Today!!!
your savetime story seems a bit odd to me....- i am working on a track with bass, drums piano, rhodes, b3 and a guide vocal- 20.6MB project file and my saves are instantaneous- i am running Mach V, Kontakt, Superior Drummer, B4- and a dozen waves plugins- I will start overdubs this week- and don't ...

Re: Saw DP7.1 at NAMM Today!!!
I've certainly experienced huge save times of 20+ secs. For me it seems to be a result of the VI preset data that gets saved in the project. If I have many Kontakt instances loaded with references to tens of thousands of samples, the preset data saved in the project is large. It's not uncommon for m...

Re: Sound On Sound canceling Performer Notes
For what it's worth, I recently switched from Logic to DP. Before that Cubase to Logic. Having spend years with both Logic and Cubase I can honestly say I had reached a level of proficiency on both DAW's that few users do. Now that I'm using DP, I feel like I've finally found what I believe to be th...
