"Is there a DP5 coming? When? Will it do something the one I have will not? Will DP 4.6 work on the Intel macs? The salesman at Sweetwater told me the Intel macs will be a proglem with DP for at least a year!" yep, there sure is ... yep it sure will ... (do a search on here, Google etc and...

Here is another strangness. The export to iTunes and re import to DP really screws up the tone. Anyone have any clues to where the tone gets mangled? When I take all of the tracks mixed in GB it seems much better. Individually, it takes hits sonically and I have experienced spikes on various loops ...

BRAVO to those who understand the value of not copying and pasting!!!! I'd even take it a step further to say that sequencing without a click in "real time" also adds believability to those tracks that are orchestra-only. Sweetening a pop rhythm track or a track with sync'd loops, of cour...

yes i agree - quite right, it's down to MOTU to fix it ... surely it's fixed in DP5 ?!

it's a stupid waste of time having to extract the audio track, and personally i can't live with watching clips of people about 5 frames out of lip sync - it winds me up and then i can't compose anything !

well there are some interesting theories here, and I've certainly learnt something about Unicorns (all usefull stuff eh ?) ... but the reality was something more prosaic - like a bunch of nerdy ex hippies (aren't we all ? - "eh shut it - speak for yourself" - ed), were trying to think of a...

Re: DP acting very wierd

re 3 ... you may be trying to drag stereo audio to a mono track or vicaversa - DP won't let you do this re 2 ... you may be in a situation when you can only use the "re-shape" tool rather than the pencil tool - eg when there are already MIDI note velocities already there, you need to "...

"Any word on when MOTU plans to address this?" I seem to remember that the MOTU article about this blamed changes in the way QT7 plays it's audio track ... and then offered the extract audio method as a work around (no mention of fixing it) ... which is what I've been doing - it's a bit of...

Re: It's been years now, so I pose the question again:

What the hell does that mean, anyway: Mark Of The Unicorn???? why does it have to mean anything ? Personally I think it's a pretty naff name for a music software / hardware company, but I guess there must be some esoteric / in-joke reason for it (which I'm sure someone here is clued up about ?) ......

Re: audio from quicktime not synching up...

I am scoring a short, i imported the audio from the quicktime. Next i set up a seperate chunk that has the chunk start at exactly the same time as the picture frame start. NExt i imported the audio to that chunk and stamped it...WHy is it not lining up with the audio in the movie? Do you think that...

like GG I switched from Opcode's vision to DP4 (actually having used a v early version of Performer in the mid 80's), as it seemed to have the most similar approach - particularly having discrete sequences open in one file, which i really couldn't do without ... in fact, i don't see how anyone scori...
