Re: MIDI hub recommendation

I think I need to look at the Behringer USB modes and pick one that will allow MIDI data to go unchanged through MIDI OUT B which doubles as a MIDI Through. Likely to result in the same delay you reported using the MIDI on the keyboard for the Alesis. Following setup worked: BCF2000 and KORG K49 co...

Re: MIDI hub recommendation

Still not enough info. How many of these have DIN5 MIDI ports? How many are USB only? Are any both? Korg Kontrol 49 has two modes USB or MIDI. It has 1 MIDI In, MIDI OUT A and MIDI OUT B. The Behringer BCF2000 also has two modes USB or MIDI. It has 1 MIDI In and 2 MIDI Outs. Alesis Performance Pad ...

Re: MIDI hub recommendation

The MacBook only has 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports. T3 to female USB adapter? That is not correct unless it's not a MacBook which has only one USB-C port and no Thunderbolt. Is it a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro — what year? USB-C is just a port and some Airs are Thunderbolt 2 via that port. In any case, you ...

Re: MIDI hub recommendation

I used a Microlite to connect a keyboard, a BCF, and Alesis drums, along with a couple of other MIDI sources. It worked fine. But once USB became more common, I got a cheap powered USB hub to connect those items that can use it. A powered USB 3 hub that is downward compatible to USB 2 and USB 1.1 c...

MIDI hub recommendation

Greetings, I'm looking to connect a KORG keyboard controller, Behringer BCF2000 surface controller and Alesis drum pad to a 2019 MacBook Pro (Mojave). I'm trying to avoid USB to connect all three. I also have a T3 adapter (2 USB, 2 T3, 1 HDMI and 2 SD card) for the MacBook. I was wondering if MOTU M...

Well, I like it a lot. I am a guitar player which means I suck at playing keys. When I am done recording some MIDI part it usually needs a lot of editing quickly. I pull the Logical editor and start writing statements like "go and select all notes with velocity between 110-127" (ya know th...

The MBox' control panel is in System Preferences, under Other. There you can change the clock source and when you check AC-3 Digital Passthrough it should take over as your internal soundcard.

I didn't have the need to setup the Box w/ 828 as aggregate device. I can't comment on that really.

No, no... the martian is correct! I would stay away from running 003 with anything else but PT. It happens that PT is almost a requirement/necessity for me than just another toy. Now that I remember - the MBox has a little control panel (I think it's accessed from the AM setup) which allows you to r...

I had the same dilemma. This is what I did: I bought a Lucid GNX192 Master clock. Clocked my 828mkII and clocked the M-Box2 via (S/PDIF). I connected the S/PDIF output of the MBox to the SPDIF input of the 828. Now I CAN hear clearly PT. No need to switch cables at all. If you don't have master cloc...

Looks interesting! Can you still achieve the famous "swing" vibe via the software emulation? I thought the MIDI clock of the actual PMC has to do a lot with the way interprets the beats. As far as I know mpc's MIDI is tighter than any PC/MAC. Correct me if I am wrong. I am simply looking f...

I am exactly in the same situation as you jrdmcdnld! I sent an email to Blacklion and Jim replied that they do only the analog but not the clock anymore. They are coming out with their own stand-alone clock. It will have 2 BNC out with an option to add S/PDIF or additional BNC. It's coming out soon....

Bandstand is a collection of sounds from NI, BigFish, Best Service, Sound Warrior, Sound-Ideas, Modo Bierkamp, The Bad Room, and Sonic Reality. I swear, one the of the cymbals in the Standard Kit is absolutely identical to a cymbal from the NI Studio Drums library. I am not sure about the number of ...

I need some Pitch Automation editing tips, please!

The material I usually edit is acoustic nylon string guitar recorded through two mics. I record 3-4 takes per song, but sometimes I do around 7-8. I rarely do punch-ins. I do whole song takes for various reasons. During some of the takes the guitar gets slightly out of tune, but I keep playing becau...

Mogami, Canare. I have some Monsters(pricey) that are pretty good. I have a thick 1/4" monster guitar cable that I paid $52 for 3 years ago. Still using it and I play 200+ shows a year. On another hand a cheaper and thinner monster I have took crap twice. It's not worth my time solder it again....
