Hardware connection advice, please!

Hi MOTUers, I'm going to make my first jazz group live recording, demanding more than eight channels, in a couple of weeks. I'm planning to daisychain my Fireface 400 to my MIO 2882 to provide an extra four channels, totalling 12. I've been hunting through the DP7 telephone book manual backwards and...

Re: DP 8.1 Wishlist

On top of my wish list is a feature that should be very easy to implement: Automatic 'new take' generation when loop recording MIDI! Why can't it work exactly like when you loop record audio? Now, the only option (well, it isn't an option, is it?) is to merge the new 'take' with what's already recor...

Re: AmpGUI DP Themes (now at AMPGUIMODS.NET)

Gotham is lovely (I have this, too), but it is no Gold Mellow hybrid...;-) ~Shea Gold Mellow hybrid is my favourite too. Kind of… Yes, kind of, because the two beautiful Gold themes I bought from Andy share a fundamental problem – they both (perhaps all v. 7 skins?) lack the provision for ch...

GSI VB3 AU or VST in DP 8 – anybody?

Guido Scognamiglia's VB3 is arguably, so far, the best Hammond clone in software. Unfortunately, in its AU guise it doesn't play nice with DP 7. Though I seem to have tamed it by hosting the VST version in Plogue Bidule. The remaining problem is an apparently unavoidable DP COQ, but the file still o...

Re: No solo button in Sequence Editor? Really?

I switch it around: I have the Sequence/MIDI editors in the consolidated window, and the Tracks window on its own. I find the channel strip to be a lot more useful in the Sequence editor than Tracks overview. That should solve your problem. That's a good idea. I'll try it out. Thanks! Best, Joachim

I did try. There was no problem consolidating it into the Tracks Overview window, but I didn't manage to persuade it to sneak into the Sequence Editor…

Re: No solo button in Sequence Editor? Really?

I use the I-Beam tool to select the range I need to listen and then press alt-space, to hear the selection in solo. Works for me. Andre Thanks for the suggestion! Only, the i-beam/alt-space method plays the audio dry, without the Mixer plug-ins. So, it will work for me sometimes, but mostly I'd lik...

No solo button in Sequence Editor? Really?

Hi, More and more I have this urgent need for finding the Solo button in the graphic Sequence Editor in 7.2.4. I haven't found one yet, but I can't accept that there is none! I know about alt/cmd-clicking the Enable/Play button, but that's not the same tging. It means Muting all other tracks/Unmutin...

Many thanks for the tip about Audio Deluxe! I just went for it, and you were right – I'm happy!

Re: Slate's Virtual Tape Machines (VTM)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you'll actually get a better price at Audio Deluxe, even without a voucher. They have a crossgrade sale of $199. I think it works out to being $50 less than if you use a voucher at Slate. :?: The Slate direct price with the $50 voucher is $199 . Audio DeLuxe quote an ...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

Could you explain what you mean by the AU spec being incomplete or VST features that AU doesn't support? I've never encountered any problems with MIDI in AU plug-ins or VI's. I agree with Kevorkian. The main problem is that an AU (for example an arpeggiator or a drum machine sending MIDI) can't pas...

With iZotope as one notable exception, though. My Ozone 4, Ozone 5 and RX 2 Adv. all have MAS versions installed.

My original question about VST support in DP 8 Mac was more out of curiosity – Plogue Bidule wraps all my (few) VST-only plugs just fine.

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

Many thanks to James, Kelly and others reporting from the NAMM demo! I have a question: I assume that the PC version of DP8 has to support VST. Otherwise, I don't think there would be many converts from the Windows camp. Was there any mention at all whether that ability has also been carried over to...

Re: Softsynth parameter mapping in DP?

Thanks for the tip about Custom Consoles. Good idea, but unfortunately the assignment targets seem to be only the usual generic continuous controllers. I can't seem to find any specific Chromatone parameters. Highly unlikely you would. There are too many variable factors in softsynth design. For ex...
