Re: DP 6.02 and Vienna Ensemble Pro on G5 quad?

FWIW, I've run VE3 in 10.4.11 on my G5 2.5 dual and it worked quite nicely. Same thing for 6.02/6.03 in 10.5.8 on a MacPro Quad with VE3 and VE Pro. Frodo, if you'd be so kind, could you provide direction as to which version/build of VE3 you were able to successfully install on 10.4.11/G5? The down...

Re: Microtuning in DP ?

Even the Bugarian women's choir sound like in the theme from Xena seems to get it's character from use of steps (particularly the 2) that are about 1/4 flat from western tempered. No, these aren't "out of tune singers"- different cultures have a different taste for different intervals in s...

It may be nceessary to export a full standard MIDI file from PT, then open or import the whole file. Then if the tempo map is needed in an already existing DP project the conductor track could be copied, the PT smidi file closed, the existing DP project opened and the conductor track pasted (could b...

In case you haven't checked DP needs to be IN conductor track mode for adjust beats to function- you can open the adjust beats window while in manual mode and you won't be able to drag barlines or beat lines - which is done in the sequence editor if memory serves. Consider adjusting tempo by measure...

DAE users-MultiRTASouts/Rewire in 5.12?

Because 5.12 has new DAE requirements it makes one hope that maybe the DAE features in DP might be more like the DAE features in the PT versions now required. Does DP5.12 support multiple outputs in DAE mode? Does rewire work in DAE mode? Can RTAS plugins be put on aux and master tracks? And in any ...

It appears the domain name ganapatimusic.net is functional now so you don't have to copy/paste or type the numbers. The top of the browser window may say ganapatimusic.com (which has the old website address which doesn't have the 6 new pieces), but if it has 17 songs listed your at the right page, t...

Re: Anyone tried the new MCU Pro controller with DP5.1

What's more 'professional' about it? (please don't say more LED's!) More LED's would be nice- Best would be if there are more characters displayed in the scribble strip- say 8 instead of ten would make scrolling through big sessions much easier. How many characters does it display in MCU mode? Thanks

Sounds like wishful thinking. Hopefully less wishful then something like, well maybe the John Kerry 2005 Inagural Ball Dinner Menu. Though it seems like it has been about that long.

If one wants avacados to not ripen leaving them on the tree should work, as I read they don't ripen while on the tree, only after they fall. Sometimes avacodos seem Ok ripened in the regrigerator, sometimes not- might have to do with when in their ripening cycle they are refrigerated- maybe tomato's...

1/8's sometimes are better. Originally I thought the smaller the increment the better. But it a appears that with adjust beats for example that if you line up with every beat or 1/8'th of the drummer your tempo map will be of what he/she played, not the tempo they were feeling neccessarlity. Your do...

Feedback on Mix needed, see DP user forum

If you are curious as to "bellydance music" done on DP, or if there is a clear difference between DP and PT when using the same hardware then check the post in Digital Performer User forum. http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=141407&sid=5659d13ddad54e1892fd2b2ea283ec9d#1414...

I don't log hours... (unless there is an in-Mac log of hourly usage of a certain file or something...ooooh is there?), but I would estimate that anywhere between 2-4 days a week I had time to work on it for about 2 hours. This was for about 2 months. I really didn't have much time during this creat...

What makes you think the 828 would have better convertors? RME gets alot of favorable posts regarding the sound of their products. There is probably a clearly discernable difference between older stuff (original 828) and more recent products. Between the convertor you have and a current 828mkII I th...

Pretty much concur with what Brad and everybody has said here. Might add that a shure beta/sm 91 (the flat boundry time mic) doesn't sound good by itself without eq- but it can supply click when placed inside the bass drum (and this mic can be done that way even with double heads if you can find a h...
