have you tried dowloading the latest driver from the motu website? it works better. also try switching on your computer with the firewire out. when it's fully booted, connect the firewire with the motu off. then power the motu on. i hope it will work for you.

well, because nobody responded, i just plugged my 8pre. i installed the latest softwares found in the motu website and just plugged it in. and it just worked fine. i tried recording with 3 mics. 1 for vocals and 2 for an acoustic guitar. i used sonar and the internal firewire with ricoh chipset. it ...

i keep on hearing problems with the 828mk2. but not too much with the 8pre. is the 8pre more stable with windows? i currently have the dell inspiron 6400, it doesn't have ti chipset in the firewire. it has ricoh chipset. so, is it the 828mk2 for me or the 8pre? anybody have the same laptop with me t...
