a pci-x card with 3 rows of pins will fit in a pci-slot. I replaced my pci with a pci-x card and everything works fine.

I want to mention that MOTU USA replaced my 24i/o and everything works flawlessly.

it is the 24 i/o unit itself. Tested it with a brandnew motu and then everything works fine.

motu replaced my card with a pci-x 424 card but the problems remains.

if the card comes straight from motu and it doesn't work i guess it must be the unit itself

Indeed the bit rates stop flashing after 5 seconds but doesn't stop on 44.1. No led's at all are lit. The motu drivers show up my sound devices.
