896 Mk3 Hybrid - burst of loud noise, left channel
Hi Guys, I'm a long time PCIe-424 series owner, but recently picked up a used 896 Mk3 Hybrid which I'm running in Windows 10 x64. When I use the unit in Sonar via its ASIO drivers, it works great with no issues. However, if I used it as the default playback device for windows and try to play anythin...

Re: Bring back PCIe option with AVB card lineup please
Yep, at this stage and for the foreseeable future, PCIe is still the superior platform for PC. No real thunderbolt support and average USB performance means the new MOTU stuff isn't a solid option for the PC folks. Until there is a significant change in this situation, I'll be sticking with my 2408 ...

Have you tried right-clicking on the icon and choosing "Troubleshoot compatibility"? You may need to launch it in compatibility mode.

Re: 112d real world performance
With no TB support, even in Windows 10 and many audio interface makers moving to newer technologies, I actually think the game may be up for Windows in the the Pro Audio arena. Nobody seems to be supporting AVB on Windows either. I think it's a dead duck. It's clear that Microsoft don't give a flyin...

Do you have the PCI424 or PCIX424? See HERE to identify your card.
The original PCI424 card is known to have compatibility issues with modern PCs.

Re: 24 i/o pcie serious problems on amd pc
That is really odd. I have the 24 i/o and a 2408 Mk3 connected with the PCIe card installed in my Asus motherboard running an AMD FX8350. With the older drivers, occasionally my PCIe card would not detect the rack units at boot time. But that has not been a problem with the current drivers. Are you ...

Audiowire (PCIe-424) ongoing support?
As someone who has their studio based on a PCIe-424 set up, including a 2408 Mk3 and 24I/O, I'm wondering how worried I should be that these products have been replaced by the AVB interfaces. I'm concerned that something like Windows 10 could break driver compatibility and now that the Audiowire dev...

Do you need the windows sounds to play through the MOTU? You could possibly point them to your onboard soundcard.
Personally, I leave windows sounds disabled on my DAW.

Re: 24 I/O clipping issues
Are the output lights on the 24I/O going into the red? Also, are you sure you aren't just driving too hot a signal into you amp/monitors? If your monitoring system is consumer level, go into the MOTU applet and click on the "Interface Options" button, then change the output from one set of...

Re: 2408 mk2 - Can I purchase a new power transformer?
It seems strange that physical buzz is making it into your recordings. Are you sure that the noise is not just leaking into a microphone somewhere? If there is a further problem in the power supply, it's quite likely to be the failure of an electrolytic capacitor just after the rectifier. This would...

A high latency in deferred procedure calls can cause pops and clicks. Grab DPC Latency Checker from http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtmland let us know your results.
Some new motherboards have utilities that can generate excessive DPCs, case in point is Asus Ai Suite.

Re: BSOD or internal error for pci 424
Do you have the PCI-424 or the PCIX-424 card? You can tell by how many notches are in the PCI connector itself. The PCI-424 has one notch, the PCIX-424 has two notches. Sometimes when these are sold used, the vendor sells the older PCI card, not the newer, supported PCIX card. I know some people do,...

Re: PCIX424 work in an amd 6 core mb, win7 32bit
This is a pretty old tech note now: http://www.motu.com/techsupport/technotes/pci-424-compatibility But it's still my understanding that the PCIX-424 is supposed to be fully compatible with modern machines. That said, the PCIe slots on your motherboard connect directly to the northbridge part of the...

Re: Motu 24i/o enclosure noisy?
I've had a 24i/o from new, and I can tell you they do suffer a bit of transformer buzz. The transformers can get pretty damn hot in the summer too. The 24i/o actually has two transformers side-by-side in it, as opposed to the one found in the 2408 Mk3. I think this accounts for the extra buzz. There...

Re: Curious issue with 24I/O
The original PCI-424 is known to have problems with modern PCs with multi-core processors. That's probably why you have issues with the newest drivers. To be honest, I think I would go with MOTU tech support's suggestion and get either a PCIe-424 or PCIX-424. The PCIe version is going to be the most...
