Re: How to show velocity at notes like this Video
Is there a shortcut to max the view of the selected MIDI track in sequence view? Don't believe so and would be a great addition. You can lasso zoom to the MIDI track or grab bottom of track on the left to increase size. Is there a shortcut to show all MIDI controller in lanes underneath? There is a...

Re: plugin parameter automation question
Just wanted to add that if you set a track to automation record, and then click on the plugin's parameter (control knob or fader) while the sequence is playing, DP will create an automation point with that *exact* value in the SE track. Helpful for those times when it's nearly impossible to pencil i...

Re: Track selection follows the selection in mixer, how?
Another option is to select "Scroll the Mixing Board to the selection" in DP's Consolidated Window preferences. I always keep a few (2-6) channels of the Mixer visible on the left side of the Consolidated Window. Mixer automatically scrolls to the the selected SE or TO track. I prefer thi...

Re: Unable to Save Presets
If not a permissions issue, it could be a folder location issue, i.e., user Library vs system Library, as there are Audio and Preset folders in both locations and DP may be looking at the wrong folder. If you were able to previously save your presets, this may not apply, but still may be worth check...

Re: 32 bit Float question for Magic Dave
Wow, what an intense thread. I've been using 32 bit float to record all of my VI's for a while now. The rational behind that was to preserve every bit of digital resolution that the VI was likely putting out. I've had times in the past where after freezing every instrument, the mix sounded 'differen...

Re: Things I'd Like To See: (Sorry if this is repetitive)
This post originally was way longer. I got very far off topic posting some tips that I thought less experienced users could try for getting a lot more out of DP, a lot faster. The post inspired me to rewrite it for the Tips Sheet, so I did, and it's now a much better post than the one I wrote here,...

Re: DP 9.13 available
I've found auxes in general not to be the problem. It's when sending many tracks to an aux and then bussing that aux to another aux that the CPU hit starts to increase. Do that a couple more times (not that there is always that need) and DP has a hard time keeping up. Hungry plugins like Eventide's ...

Re: DP 9.13 available
Did someone noticed that when recording automation, it works tweaking knobs, but it won't record bypass or enable on a plugin, that was working on previous version ! anyone can confirm that ? cheers ! Confirmed. It seems to effect some Waves and MOTU plugins in my experience. Only effects bypass au...

By the same symptoms, do you mean unexplained master fader peaks? My iMac had the same symptoms with 20G. Maxing it out at 32G fixed me up.

Re: Sudden Master Fader Peaks
I always have Activity Monitor open to keep an eye on RAM, a habit formed from the 32bit days when on ML. There I could see how much RAM I had available and also check on Page Outs. In Sierra, the "pressure" is always in the green and Swap Used is at zero. Techtool Pro, which I do not curr...

Re: Sudden Master Fader Peaks
Thanks for replying Mike. This has been happening on both of my computers. 12GB on the 2012 Mac 12core and 24GB on the 2010 12core. Always plenty of RAM available, especially on the Mac with 24GB. Still, I should probably increase the RAM on the Mac with 12GB. I did notice some unexpected DP improve...

Sudden Master Fader Peaks
Since DP 8, I’ve been getting erroneous peaks in the Master Fader. What happens is that I will have a limiter on the master fader that is running the audio with about .5db to spare before peaking. All is well, then all of a sudden I will see red peak signals on the master fader that were not happeni...

Re: Changing pitch AND duration in DP9
For vari-speed effects, i.e turntable effects, Effectrix by Sugarbytes works well.
For static slowdown pitch effects, I usually just play back the file in a sampler, easy and old-school.

Re: Mac CPU upgrade - more cores or higher clock speed?
I have a late 2010 Mac Pro that still does not need to be replaced. I have never brought it to it's knees with anything DP. My current template is comprised of around 40 VIs, 24 audio tracks with plugins, 40 more audio tracks without plugins, and around 120 MIDI tracks. When I was doing trailer mus...
