Re: Compatibility for 8PRE FW to MacBook Pro

This is very late, but for future reference in case someone else lands here from a google search, if you just get the flashing 1 or 2 single led, then you are on firmware version 1.0. You would need to update the firmware to 1.0.3 from here, which added a front panel factory reset: https://motu.com/...

Oh, you're trying to rename a large number of files in the Finder. A batch rename utility like Filewrangler will make this very simple:

I saw a thread on here somewhere and someone said the reset procedure was to hold the volume button in for 5-10 seconds and then turn it to the right or something like that. I'll see if I can track it down... ...yep here it is. Maybe it will help? http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=234124

In OS X, whatever button is glowing/pulsing is activated by hitting Return. The Esc key is supposed to be for the button that represents the opposite action of the one that is glowing/pulsing; in this case the Cancel button. Cmd-d (Apple-d) is for Don't Save.

Hope that helps!

...Stay away from Tooheys, XXXX (yes a beer called four X Don't ask) The southern States beers are the best, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. IMHO. :D The few times I was in Australia I did my best to get to know as many dark Aussie beers as possible. I found Toohey's Old to be quite nice. S...

For my project studio, I make sure that there is nothing on the outside of the house that indicates there's a studio inside. You can't see in any windows and see the studio. It's all heavily insulated for sound (the drums leak out a little, but not much; to anyone outside, they would think it's just...

A quick google of that exact error message seems to indicate that maybe it has some something to do with permissions. Although I can't imagine why you'd get the same error on so many different machines. Maybe all these machines are configured similarly? (just guessing)

For my purposes, I just checked the iTunes created tags using (demo versions of) Snapper, Pathfinder, and Audiofinder. They all seemed to recognize the tags just fine. From my observations, iTunes can write extra tags other than the standard id3 tags, but that didn't seem to cause any problems from ...

Use iTunes. It's free and does the job just fine, especially for mass tagging.
