Thanks for the reply. If this is the case how would I set up Cubase ? It sees the default Intel driver but there is no sound output.

Mac Pro & Parallels software with MOTU 2408MKIII

Hi, Is anyone using Parallels 3.0 software with their Mac Pro? I want to run Cubase SE1 from my virutal windows machine and have my MOTU 2408 MKIII which is attached to the Mac Pro be the main interface. I also have an MAudio Firewire 410 and a MAudio Mobile Pre USB interface. The Mobile Pre is hook...

You could try the Firewire interfaces made by MOTU. I have a Firewire 410 made by MAudio. I bought it to work with Protools LE 7.3.1. It works fine with DP as well but the sound does not compare to the 2408MKIII. The levels are much lower, I don't know if it is because I am plugging it into my Tride...

I don't think so. I think it is hardware related. Many have complained about the card not seating properly. Still no problems since I got the new card.

Hi David,

I don't know if MOTU has corrected the card but my second card has been working flawlessly for months. I would request another card immediately and get rid of the one with the problems. What have you got to lose? They sent mine and it arrived in one day.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jules,

I had the same problems and drove myself nuts trying to find the solution. I had my card replaced and now all is well. It is the card and not any of the cables, ports etc. Try and get MOTU to send you another one immediately.
Hope this helps.

If anyone is interested, I finally spoke with a tech at MAudio about the MIDI scrambling going on with my 3 Midisport 8X8 interfaces. At least this tech acknowledged that it is an inherint problem when using more than 2 units. So that news is a bit bittersweet. At least I now know it is not my mothe...

Hi David, Yes the Korg 01Wfd file is there. I did all of the above in the audio/MIDI setup and relaunched Performer. Still no 01WD named patches. It is probably corrupted. Maybe I can throw out any MIDI prefs from DP as well. If I need a new copy I guess I could get it from my DP5.11 disks. If not I...

Hi D Grand, So far so good with the new MOTU PCIe card! I have shut down several times and the card is getting recognized. When I think of all those hours of downtime troubleshooting this thing I want to scream. At least MOTU didn't hassel me and sent me a new card within a day. I put the Aaxeon USB...

MOTU PCIe card

OK, I finally got MOTU to send me an new PCIe card for my Mac Pro. I placed it in slot 2 and now the computer and programs recognize it. It is too early too tell if it is going to reamain stable but I will keep you all posted. I definetly think it was the first card that was defective. This one has ...

Thanks so much MusicB3 for your help. I have been incredibly busy this weekend and have not had a chance to get inside the Mac Pro. Everything is working right now. I am afraid to shut down at this point . I needed to finish up some work for a deadline. As soon as I have some down time I will check ...

Hi Brian,

Thanks. I am aware of the software. I will see if I play with the levels a bit to see if I can get a stronger signal.

Sorry, I meant to write Mac Pro but it was 3AM and I was getting a bit bleary eyed. Yes I believe I had the same situation. When I first installed the card I had a hard time getting it to sit stabilized. When I placed my Firewire cable in it, it rocked also and didn't feel that secure. When I spoke ...

Hi Richard, I feel your frustration but in all fairness to MOTU, I have used my 2408 /324 and 2408 mk3/ 424 for more than 10 years with more than four generations of Macs with absolutely no problems. I had an Audiomedia I and then an Audiomedia II card that resided on the systems and everything was ...
