As per BBC4 show earlier today, it was the longest symphony at the time, the first with a chorus, and was performed after only two rehearsals very soon after it was written.

Re: Audio vs Aux tracks in template
Hello, Bayswater, What’s the difference between putting the VI in V-Racks instead of in the Chunk (other than the ability to use the VI for multiple Chunks)? This may be something I used to know and forgot. I only use V-Racks for a couple of things these days. Joe There are some differences in the ...

Re: Audio vs Aux tracks in template
Thanks Bayswater. Wow I didn't realize AUX tracks were more taxing than audio, but your theory about a "background mixer" makes sense. Do you happen to have a link to the previous discussion on this topic? (I tried searching...). With this in mind, if I had say 500 stereo audio tracks whi...

Re: Audio vs Aux tracks in template
The last time this was discussed here, the argument was the opposite — that aux tracks eat a lot of CPU. I don’t know about the most recent OS and CPU versions, but my 2018 Mini can do well over 500 audio tracks with a load of basic plugins and well of 100 VI tracks. Its the Aux tracks with input an...

Re: Mac "cleaning" app?
Here, it still sometimes can’t find a file that is showing on the screen in an open Finder window. Maybe something odd about what it does or doesn’t index. Find Any File or EasyFind both work more consistently.James Steele wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 1:47 pmI may go back and see if Spotlight has gotten any more reliable for me.

Re: whether or not to upgrade DP to 11?
There’s not much you can do other than putting DP 11 on a separate volume or partition. There are support files that get written over, and a few things that don’t work properly on the older version after a newer version is installed. To fix the older version you have to reinstall it, and then the ne...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
With consecutive notes of the same pitch, where starts & ends are quantized for notation purposes, playback doesn't work right. The 2nd note's duration is reduced to the shortest note possible. DP seems to be prioritizing note-ons and note offs in a dumb way. DP does do note on off priorities i...

I’d forgotten about the BBE Sonic Maximizer. I had that once. Or at least an old version.

Thanks for the tip. I have the 14 day trial running. Maybe a bit too reserved and clean to reproduce the Yardbirds at the Marquis club, but pretty similar.monkey man wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 1:41 am Maybe the SPL Vitalizer MK2-T modelled plugin from Plugin Alliance?

Re: MOTU April 19th webinar posted - Scaling MIDI & Audio
I was able to access the video by dismissing the Facebook login window, so I suppose non-facebook people like myself can access it. YouTube would just make it easier for us non-facebook folk to search/find. I went to the link again to see if I could get on. I did get onto it but it said this partic...

Re: whether or not to upgrade DP to 11?
My setups are perhaps not quite as old as yours, but pretty close. I’d say DP 11 doesn’t run any better or worse than DP 9 or 10 did on any of my Macs, so the obvious thing to do is to look at the release notes for DP 10 and 11 and see if there are new or improved features that you think are worth t...

Re: Intel Mac Pro- should I jump straight from Monterey to Sonoma?
Bays, the reason I wanted to update is so I don't fall too far behind. For instance I don't use Logic as a DAW, but I would like to access a feature on it, that I can't because the newer versions that have it won't install on my machine. I get that. I have a Monterey startup volume with a later ver...

Re: DSP Quattro updated to 5.9.5
Am I the the only one who notices that the app has a smaller footprint than the documentation? I hadn’t compared the app to the manual but always wondered how he gets the executable file so small. I remember IT shops that programmed directly in machine code to get small files and quick execution, b...

Re: Intel Mac Pro- should I jump straight from Monterey to Sonoma?
Is there any good reason to update the OS, other than for the sake of updating? Is there a function in the later versions you’d like to have that isn’t in your current version?
At the very least, set up a test volume with the new OS version and try it out first.
