Dell E1505 Ricoh Chipset Firewire & Ultralite
I'm using a Dell Inspiron E1505 with a Ricoh Chipset onboard Firewire 4 pin. It seems to work well for recording medium projects with about 6 audio tracks and 3 MIDI tracks with VST instruments in 24 bit at either 44.1 or 48KHz. When I try to work in 96K I start to expierience more dropouts and the ...

reformat
A drastic solution would be to back up all your files and reformat your hard drive, reload the operating system and all your software. This is a pain and takes a few hours, but then you have a clean slate and things should be operating the best after a fresh reformat. This is time consuming if you h...

Firmware 1.15 isues
I upgraded the firmware to the 1.15 and my ultralite behavior was far worse than the 1.10. It would lock up almost 90% of the times it was powered on when connected to the computer. I also expierienced more dropouts after I finally got it talking with the computer without locking itself up. I re-loa...

When I boot up or shut down my Dell Inspiron E1505 with the SIIG firewire expresscard in the slot, it locks things up.. won't power down, won't boot up. I have used the firewire expresscard with two other firewire interfaces without any problems though, I just plug in the card after I boot up and un...

Keep us posted if you find out any way to use a different driver for the Ricoh chipset firewire onboard. I'd also like to hear if MOTU has a response to the expresscard lockup issues. As of now I can only use the Ricoh onboard firewire with my Dell Inspiron because the Expresscard locks up the compu...

MOTU audio wave driver problems...
I am having the same problem with the ultralite. I have loaded the drivers ahead of time, reboot, then plug in the ultralite. When it gets to the audio wave driver it locks up everything and I'm forced to do a power down restart. I haven't yet figured out how to get around this, so as of now I can't...

Installation Problem with Ultralite - complete Lock-up!!!
Please help. I am installing my new ultralite and have tried repeated times with the same outcome. Each time I install the drivers (have tried newest from the website, as well as the CD included in the box) after installing the drivers, I restart the computer and connect the ultralite. I starts inst...
