Re: Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controller and Digital Performe
Understand. Yes, I clicked the "set all" button. Yes, with USB connection, DP7 works perfectly with an Alesis keyboard, a Casio key board and a Roland keyboard. Yes, "MIDI monitor" shows an incoming signal with the Akai, but the DP7 does not appear to recognize the MIDI signal as...

Re: Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controller and Digital Performe
Hello All, I tried resetting the input filter and the problem remains. I will work on the other suggestions you made but in due time. I have already spent considerable effort to try to make this work, and again, the other 3 keyboards I have connected to DP7 work flawlessly. MOTU Tech support suggest...

Re: Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controller and Digital Performe
Hello Motu Tech Support and Shooshie, I was not aware of this input filter. To be honest, after spending so much time trying to fix this, I have essentially given up the idea of making this keyboard work with DP7. I will try your suggestion this WE and let you know the result. Thank you so much. You...

Re: Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controller and Digital Performe
Hello Shooshie, Thank you for your response. FYI, I have been using DP for 12 years (V4, +upgraded x 2). I am by no means an expert using, but somewhat familiar with the application. I spent approximately 30min with MOTU Tech Support while using both devices, and they were not able to figure out my ...

Re: Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controller and Digital Performe
Thank you GG. I agree that it seems that my problem must be some small silly setting on one or both, but for all of my efforts with both DP and Akai, I simply cannot figure it out. I will continue to try, but I have been trying for several months, (on and off). IMO, SW/Hardware should work together ...

Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controller and Digital Performer DA
I have asked this question before. I have consulted with MOTU Tel Tech Support for >30 minutes. I have pursued suggests from my previous post on this subject. I am not able to make my relatively new Akai MPK88 keyboard work with DP7.24. DP receives a MIDI instruction per MIDI monitor, but no note si...

Re: Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controler
Hello Guitar Gaz, To my knowledge, I have done all of the steps you suggestion, and beyond. And I am baffled by this. I am glad to hear that you are able to use your Akai with DP successfully. The crazy thing is that Garage Band and Abelton Lite detect the MIDI signal with NO problem! I was wonderin...

Akai MPK88 MIDI Keyboard Controler
For some reason, DP7.24 (Mac) is not able to register the MIDI signal from this professional keyboard from the company Akai, a market leader in this type of product. I have tried to feed it a MIDI signal by USB cable and MIDI cable. The MIDI Activity Monitor shows a response to a key press, but the ...

Re: Beat detection to MIDI
Thank you to all for your responses. Stubsonnic, you appear to describe what I want to do. I would so much like to exploit the Beat Detection Analysis to trigger drum samples, but alas, DP does not appear to offer that ability (at least in current form). Is there a 3rd party SW package which would d...

Re: Wave Form Editor, a simple explanation
Thank you Argameddon Mikehalloran and Rainmaker. Your responses are all very helpful. What is a "trolling response"? I do not know what that is, and I may be many things to many people, but I have never been called that before? I will delve more deeply into the Wave Editor module. I do wis...

Re: Beat detection to MIDI
Detect beats in my song with a beat detection algorithm, and create a MIDI file using the beat detection data so that I can apply a MIDI drum module and add percussion.

Wave Form Editor, a simple explanation
I have been a DP customer for many years. I am a basic level user. I like so much about DP. But one module which I have never grasped is the "Wave Form Editor". Could someone knowledgable from the Motunation communition explain to me in simple terms: "What is this good for"? Beca...

Beat detection to MIDI
Hello MOTUnation,
Is it possible to use Beat detection to create a MIDI file of the syncopation of an audio file, and then use that syncopation in the form of a MIDI file to create a MIDI percussion accompaniment file?
I am working with DP7.
Thank you,
ES

How to speed up tempo
DP Forum Members, I am working in Logic 8 and DP 7.2. I made a recording and sound edit in DP7.2, bounced and read into iTunes. Somehow in changing the clock speed of my Mac computer between 88.2 kHz and 44.1 kHz, I caused the piece to play at double speed in iTunes, and it sounded GREAT. How could ...
