Re: MIDI Graphic Editor: question & LONG overdue gripe
Can you control the scrolling by regulating how far off window your cursor is? For me, the "pain" of this is that the graphic editor used to work so much faster and easier. I guess I could try to install an older version on an older computer, but the trade-off is that it will be crashy aga...

MIDI Graphic Editor: question & LONG overdue gripe
For decades, I've used the MIDI graphic editor extensively for composition & arranging work. I've been wanting to vent/ask other long-time DP users about this for quite some time now. There was a major update, (I think v4 or v5) where graphic editing got more difficult and less speedy to use. It...

Re: Apple's MainStage2 for $29 in the App Store - Killer Liv
Not sure what format the instruments are. They are kept inside the app's contents, with no indication of their type. I..e, they aren't components in the component folder. I mostly had been wanting to get Sculpture without having to bother with most of the other Logic stuff. I've been really fascinat...

Re: Slow Down Audio & Bring Down Pitch Like In The Analog Da
I know this is a pretty old post (I'm just getting caught up from a long time away). It's worth mentioning that Audacity has good pitch/speed/tempo change processes. It's free and does a good job. It does allow for some transitions of speed over time with one of the processors. You might need to do ...

Re: Apple's MainStage2 for $29 in the App Store - Killer Liv
There are ways that it could be used in inter-application ways (soundflower, interapplication MIDI), but that would hit the CPU pretty hard and one would have latency (wait&see) issues. And we should have qualified that Mainstage 2 for $29 is a great deal if you don't already have Logic AND if y...

Re: Apple's MainStage2 for $29 in the App Store - Killer Liv
I don't think that limitation (one-patch-per-song) is correct. You CAN add mixer tracks each with a different instrument sound, and you can use various controls to mute tracks, map to velocity-ranges, map to key-ranges, etc. So in a My comment about it being cryptic is based on my relative experienc...

+1 on izotope's free vinyl plug.
I've used for several "period" things. Works very well! Did we mention it's free?

Re: Apple's MainStage2 for $29 in the App Store - Killer Liv
Classic! To clarify, here the significant differences between Mainstage2 (via AppStore) and the way DP can be used to host VI's & FX: 1. Mainstage 2 includes a more comprehensive array of VI's including EXS24 (a decent sampler instrument, with a decent library), Sculpture (a stunning acoustic mo...

Re: Need to scale tapped tempos, a tricky one....
That worked!! The last step was to reset the meter to 4/4 and change the click back to quarter-notes, from half-notes (from something I tried before). What made me think it was messed up, was when I was doing the time scale, typing in 200% always showed a very weird number for the end time and lengt...

Years ago, I googled "stubbsonic" (it is my registered tradename)-- and found Sean.

Re: Need to scale tapped tempos, a tricky one....
Thanks! I will study it. In the past, when I've tried using any of the automatic functions for deriving tempo from a soundbite, it has been useless. A tutorial might help me make better use of those functions. I appreciate your response, especially given that my issue is pretty difficult to describe...

Re: Need to scale tapped tempos, a tricky one....
The only thing I can think of right now is to print the click as MIDI to a track, then select all, then option-drag (drag a copy) all those downbeat note events to the upbeats. Run that track to my K2500R's sequencer, then play that back as a tap tempo back into DP. I'm hoping there won't be much dr...

Need to scale tapped tempos, a tricky one....
I tapped a pretty complicated tempo (to sync to an audio track) and edited it so it was just so. Because the tempo was pretty tricky, I tapped it twice as slow-- (tapped half-notes). But I didn't know how to tell DP that I was tapping half-notes. Thinking I could figure out how to fix it later, I we...

Re: beams on 8th notes- too thin on Preview/PDF/Print
Still a lingering issue with this problem... (6/30/11) With the native driver, staff lines are not visible, and 8th note beams are one pixel wide. With the generic postscript print driver, the beams are fine, but the staff lines are still so thin as to be barely visible. However, on a different prin...

Re: MIDI notes not sounding during selection or scrubbing
Ahhhh!!! Yes! That makes perfect sense.
I found this setting in the preferences. I changed it so new projects (and the current one) will render VI's in real time.
Thanks, Mess, everyone. I really appreciate it.
