Looking at a lot of posts here it appears that the 896HD has a crappy build quality, doesnt sync to other 896HD's well, Inputs going bad, random screetching sounds. Sounds like its junk to me. Yes, each others are connected with firewire. And the master one (#1) is connected to the computer via firewire cable. My via firewire card doesn't make synch ok with win xp pro sp2...As well as my texas instrument ... Did you try win xp pro SP1 ? I bought a licence for win2000pro a few years ago.....
