Re: Mixes Inconsistencies

VCAs in DP do not carry any audio, they merely remote-control other faders. I like them, they allow for a great simplification of the mixer by hiding the actual groups and remote-control them without requiring an aux and bus. "most of the time, mixing is done without ever touching a fader nowa...

Re: Mixes Inconsistencies

Yes well calling it VCA Is confusing to me. The industry has always called the Voltage Controlled Amplifier, Amplifier meaning an analog device allowing voltage for controlling the gain therein. I'll have to crack the manual to figure out what MOTU is doing here I guess. Thanks for the clarificatio...

Re: Mixes Inconsistencies

I'm not a fan of anything VCA related carrying an audio signal. My favorite fader to date was a Gotham Audio late 50s monster that turned a pot with a wire band. Not automated although Neve did so in the '70s and called it Necam. Very sluggish. Then came SSL which blew away every automation ever des...

Re: Mixes Inconsistencies

Cool.

The method of grouping all the audio faders and automating them all down using trim latch is getting old not to mention its rather dicey and inaccurate. Not very professional IMHO.

Re: Mixes Inconsistencies

Your right. I spent many posts on this and emails to MOTU with no results. Not only would I like to see what you are asking. I would like different aspects of copy mix like New mix minus track faders allowing you to do a complete new mix but keep plugs and sends in place or new mix keeping mutes. A ...

Re: Audio recording inconsistencies

BTW since I upgraded my 09 cheese grater to 12 core 3.46mhz and ram I have not had issues like this. Your '08 is likely just too old.

Re: Sound presents on small monitors

OK but your saying this effect is created in some mixes and not others? Its clear to me that on theatrical they are doing something and certainly on todays pop. It does not pull on the ears like completely out of phase would but somewhere in-between. What plug exists to accomplish this or is this a ...

Sound presents on small monitors

I realized recently I can get in real trouble remixing on my main monitors which are 2.5s with a sub 12. I have a pair of small monitors which were cheap bi-amped desk computer speakers I bought some time ago. To make them tolerable I doubled them up for more volume placing the hf unit's next to eac...

DSD 11+ MHZ IO by RME released. When by MOTU?

FYI - This half width DAC has a smokin clock but the unit cost is 2K. ADI-2 Pro FS R. I really wish MOTU would build one we can buy for remix. I know its time for this level of quality audio recording. Come on MOTU guys! Can you believe they used a wall wart plug? MOTU could add features like soft c...

Re: Problems with automation in 10.11

To me, mute functionality and automation IS the heart of a good DAW and these kinds of chase errors are very very serious. If its related to CPU speeds, we should be told and minimum Computer compatibility should be mentioned for upgrades. It's the only fair way of support.

Re: Problems with automation in 10.11

Could it be lag time in CPU's or CPU assignment?
