I don't know if this is what you mean but I tried hooking up my monitors directly to the motu(2408mkii) outputs(using the front panel volume) and the signal seems weak and slightly distorted(maybe). if i hook a spdif cable from the motu to my tmd1000 and monitor through the tmd1000 it's a much hotte...

it won't stay synced. the tascam tries lock on for a second then loses it, I've messed with every setting and still no luck.

this is the most incompatible hardware i've ever owned. nothing but problems.

any ideas anyone?

I have the tascam tdif "A" hooked up to motu "B" port with a tdif cable. I tried changing tdif word length on the tascam still not working.

Ialso have a Behringer ada8 hooked to port "A" on the motu. It works great.
