Re: How old is DP8?

No, I haven't tried it, I don't have any particular need for it, so I can't recommend it personally, but IRCAM do some good work, so I would be surprised if it wasn't pretty good. It is on sale for $99, with a RRP of (I think?) @299. Yeah their reputation is extremely good - I'm going to have to tr...

BKK I've tried it but wasn't really impressed. Have you tried it...what did you think about it?

Re: How old is DP8?

You would consider changing DAWs, with all the time and suffering that entails, just because DP8 is two years old? It's not "kick-ass" enough? I don't get it. I knew when I saw the subject line this was goi g to be one of those "why, oh, why doesn't MOTU do this?" threads. But I...

Re: How old is DP8?

Shooshee, With all due respect, and I do respect you because mostly your replies on this board are great - but I will disagree with your reply. Here is why. The things that you went through are either work arounds or MOTU just won't do that....not, 'can't do that' - just won't do that. Here is what ...

Re: How old is DP8?

A biggie for me would be an excellent Time Compression/Expansion algorithm. I'd like to be able to copy/paste a Word doc file name into a session name like in the past (DP 7.0 and before). Drives me nuts to have to paste it in after the session is created! Every app in the world has this basic funct...

Re: How old is DP8?

That's kinda what I thought. In today's technology cycle I sure hope MOTU comes out with a kick arse version soon! I'm so engrained into DP it would be very difficult for me to switch to a different DAW but yet I see these new DAW's with some stellar, innovative functions and I sort of get DAW envy....

Re: How to make wider mixes

The only 2 cents I'd like to add to this is as you probably know - be careful as to how much of these types of processors you use. I have found that in most cases you'll lose definition/punch in a mix and it just sounds 'weird'. Not sure if you're a UA guy but the Precision K is pretty interesting a...

Before you buy or update be sure to look at what was removed from 6 that was in 5.

Many are talking in great length about this at Gearslutz

Re: sd2 files can't opened in DP8.07

Hi,

I wish I had a solution for you and I realize this won't help much but I can also import sd2 files. I have found that DP doesn't really 'like' sd2 files but they will open.

Good luck - I hope you find a solution.

Re: DP 8.07 is crashing non stop with new Imac. Help :(

Hi, I'm not sure how 'todamnhip' was trying to give you advice but possibly I just don't understand. Have you tried disabling the plugins in the Preferences/Audio Plugins to see how it reacts? Try that while loading up a session. I'm sure you've run Mac's 'Disc Utilities' and if you haven't done the...

I have EZ & Superior Drummer which I prefer the latter. I like EZ's new interface but I'm hoping that a SD interface update is not far behind!! So…I'm holding out for that LOL.

Re: Rock Song - Fresh Mix - Self Mastered

Good stuff as always, csi! Keep up the great work, brother! One thought would be to warm things up a bit. (My two cents on a quick 15 minute break. Original mix far left.) http://www.rfjmusic.com/publicmusic/Rain.mov Cheers, Berg Hey Berg if you've gotta second can you give this tweaked mix a once ...
