Don’t do it, motu has pretty much a abandoned it. Go for Falcon.

Yep. This is where this long time user gets off the SD train. I chose not to upgrade.

Re: DP 9.1 sweet but OMFs still a problem
Judging by the dormancy of this thread, I guess there's been no development on the omf issue.

Re: DP 9.1 sweet but OMFs still a problem
Complaints of the omf/aaf issue have been falling on deaf ears for years. I make my living doing post production and would have bailed on Pro Tools years ago if MOTU would make it reliable. Haven't upgraded DP since 7.24 and don't intend to until the omf/aaf issue is solved.

Sounds promising, I'd love to try it out to make sure, but my demo has expired so I guess I'll check it out again when DP10 comes out.dix wrote:OMF and AAF import seems to be working in DP9.01. Woohoo!

Re: 2sd client lost. PT can open an OMF file that DP can't.
FWIW & FYI. Tried DP9 demo imported various omfs & aafs generated from various video rigs and was getting excited because everything seemed to be on the timeline correctly, but upon hitting play the audio files are corrupt and generate an unpleasant noise. I even tried regenerating the aafs ...

What does MOTU have to say. You did file a Techlink, yes? This is from the features pafe for DP 8: File import DP files from previous versions AudioDesk files Standard MIDI files OMF interchange files AAF interchange files Final Cut Pro XML File export Standard MIDI files (type 0 and 1) OMF interch...

Re: 2sd client lost. PT can open an OMF file that DP can't.
I wish I had encouraging words. My main source of income is audio post for picture and I have been using ProTools for nearly 20 years. I also do a little music from time to time and have had DP for as many or more years. Over the last 6 or so years I wanted to move away from Avid and have tried on s...

Re: AAF DP Conundrum
The unreliable aaf and omf (1 or 2) importing have been deal breakers for me with DP for some years. If I could be sure that it could handle anything editors throw at me, as Pro Tools does, I would have jumped from ProTools to DP years ago. I really would like to kick the Avid dependence. I really w...

I had the same thing happening until I bumped up my RAM to 24 gigs.

Re: BLACKMAGIC INTENSITY PRO in DP
I have to agree!
It took 5 MONTHS for me to get this reply from a techlink to MOTU regarding Blackmagic support.
"Blackmagic video output cards are not supported for QuickTime video output by DP. I will submit this as a feature request to our development team."

DP6 for Post Questions
I have been doing post production for nearly 18 years, from PostPro Synclavier, Studer Dyaxis, SSL Screensound, Fairlight MFX, and for the last 12 years mostly ProTools. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention analog editing with a razor blade and flying efx in by hand with multitrack. I have always had DP for...

I've looked at their website, they mention the SATA 300. What about SATA 150, I've been able to find some of those around the web. But I want to be sure. What about the Seagates? The work I do doesn't have a high track count or a bunch of VIs. I've been using my firewire 400 7200rpm with 8mb cache a...

Internal HD, Raptor?
I am looking to ad another SATA drive to my G5 Dual 2.0 for audio. I've been using and external FW hard drive, but I'm also using an 8pre on the FW buss as well. I thought it would be a good idea to let the FW buss breathe by moving to an internal SATA. I've been looking at WD Raptors and was wonder...
