Here's the response I received from Waves after asking to get my WUP extended due to lack of DP support for my bundle (B&P)... --- There has not been any updates to your Waves Broadcast and Production bundle in over 2 years at this time. The only way to get on the current version and participate...

Fantastic! Don't you love threads like this - all positive! I am close to upgrading to 10.4.11 and DP 5.13 but here's the kicker: Waves 5.9 (AU)/DP 5.13... anyone? I won't WUP but, god help me, I still use my bundle! My system is below.. --- Macbook Pro 15" 2.33 GHz dual core 2, 2GB RAM, Mac OS...

5.13 + tiger?

Anyone having problems with 5.13 and tiger? I am not going to leopard till 10.5.4 or so! I'm on 10.4.10 and DP 5.12 is still buggy here (MIDI is mostly problematic, audio seems fine for the sort of stuff I do.) Anyway I'd like to se if DP is more stable but am afraid to try!

. I think we would be lucky if they extend our WUPs for 6 months... Hmf. I replaced my Waves plugs. It would certainly help Waves if they extended DP Waves customers WUPs to accommodate their lack of compatibility for all this time as these customers would probably buy WUP later. I say •••• them th...

'm guessing you have to be current with your WUp to participate right? I have not (and will not) get WUPed myself though I'd love to get automation back.

When I eventually go Intel, I'd love to buy a UAD card. Hopefully they're powerful enough to justify the purchase, in DSP terms. I have been tempted by TC Electronic and UAD but as I am a dedicated MIO user this is the DSP I will support for now. That being said I am shocked and amazed that people ...

My pickle though is that I need more cpu to start mixing my album and even tho I have a Mac DP 1.25 g4... in PT LE.. I can't upgrade software because then my hardware won't recognize it anymore and in the version I'm stuck in... YOU CANNOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE 2ND PROCESSOR, THIS IS RIDICULOUS!. S...

Yes Live can do this - and it really is a great app for this sort of thing. On one of my gigs I set up 8 or so tracks to record to and insert different FX for each so each iteration of the loop is a bit different. Quantization is very good in Live and MIDI tracks can also work this way. FWIW and YMMV.

Actually I think MOTU is being dragged kicking and screaming in that direction.

This summer I did a bunch or performances using my G4 powerbook as a VI host and my Macbook running Ableton Live. It was surprisingly easy and was the reason I decided a Receptor was not necessary for me now or in the future. I used the powerbook by nececiy as then most of my VIs were not UB yet. I ...

Re: DP 5.1 is crashing on my Macbook

"I installed DP 5.1 yesterday on my Macbook and am getting intermittent crashes." I started with many crashes and unexpected quits on my Macbook/DP 5.1/Waves, but things have seemed to have become more stable. I am working more carefully now however - saving often and allowing processes to...

So I have done everything I can think of, and still can't seem to track the source of my constant unexpected quits. Is anybody else having this problem? Yep. Unstable to the core here on my very clean Macbook. I am waiting for 5.1.something - this is somewhat typical of MOTU FWIW I expect the next ...

Sorry for that... but do you remember the time it took for Unisyn to get out of version 1? 10 years I believe and I'm not kidding either, and it still crashed left right and center! I would guess the answer to your question is: "never" or, perhaps, "not in your lifetime." A less ...
