How do I use the activity monitor to check this?daniel.sneed wrote:I've seen many times *get info* going wrong in this regard.kassonica wrote:Also make sure all the updates are UB and NOT just for intel.
I only trust Activity Monitor when it comes to this PPC / Intel question. It has never failed on me.

Re: AU plug-ins are crashing DP 6.02
I ran memtest and my RAM passed. Any one of them will crash the computer alone. Any AU plugs at all. (At least the ones I have ... which I have listed). So, AutoTune, Waves, or Focusrite all by themselves will crash the whole computer. If I remove all AUs, it works fine. I brought the project and al...

AU plug-ins are crashing DP 6.02
Been a bad day. I have tried everything I can think of. AU plug-ins are causing a total death kernal panic crash. I can play a project fine with no AU plugs loaded, but when I put them back in ... crash. Fresh install of: DP 6.02 LiquidMix 2.3.16 Waves 5.9.7 AutoTune 510 Any one of them by themselve...

POD Farm and DP 6.02 (Tiger)
I was fine until I installed the new MOTU driver, now POD Farm crashes not only DP, but the whole computer. Serious crash.
Anyone have a way around this?

Re: DP 6.02 and latency
Yep. I have a manual.
I set the buffer low (512) and there is still too much latency to be able to accurately trigger Model12 with a USB Keystation.
Is the only thing that helps setting the buffer lower? Any lower and I won't be able to use Liquid Mix.

DP 6.02 and latency
Using DP with VIs or POD Farm has such bad latency that it is unusable. At least the way I am set up. ANyone have any ideas?
Why can't DP work as well as GarageBand?

V-Rack Question
I have been setting up projects with V-Racks, and it is a very cool way to get uniform mixes across an entire project as well as save a lot of time.
My question is this: Does anyone know how to set up windows so that you can see the V-Rack at the same time as the mixing board? It would be helpful.

Re: DP 6.01 behaving well anyone else?
Hello gents, Sorry for breaking the thread here. I am running DP6 on a G5 dual 2.5ghz with 6.5 gigs of ram. I am getting a lot of crackles on my sessions and for some reason, I notice that my activity monitor spikes up. Now, this is not the cpu monitor from dp. That one does not even make it half w...

Re: Specific 6.01 crashes, anyone else?
I have always been able to crash DP by doing this:
I'm recording ...
I stop and immediately click in the timeline to back up a few measures to fix a mistake ...
If I click in the wrong place (I get the vertical scroll bar instead of moving the green playback head) ...
OUCH! FREEZE!

BTW, my MOTU techlinks are still unread at motu.com. They must really be busy with bugs or something.

Re: How deeply do we know our tools?
When I have tried to use the beat quantize to fix a problem in a soundbite, like they played out of time on a fill or something ... I have only gotten nasty results. Strange artifacts, warbles, etc. Anyone have any luck with this?

I like avatars, too. They add a little warmth and personality to these cold virtual text conversations about technology.

Re: Open DP6 Letter
Don't forget that this is not a MOTU board but a private one. You should send your letter directly to MOTU using their customer service Email address if you want it to be read by MOTU. I agree about the soundbites' edge though... :) I sent it to them first, but I thought it could be an interesting ...

Dear MOTU, Overall, I am really liking the improvements in DP6. Thanks for a great product. I'm sure you are keeping track of the bugs, I want to register some of mine: - Lots of crackles in audio, I think it is not playing well with Liquid Mix. - Burn CD-R using markers as tracks, using the disc im...
