Re: ANY NEW REVELATION ON HANGING MIDI NOTES w/ G5 10.4.5/4.

I don't think you guys quite get it. I wasn't saying that it was some inexplicable mystical thing that can't be observed objectively. Quite the contrary, I have spent a lot of time zoomed in checking out waveforms, comparing transient start points, measuring the differences, noting patterns, etc. Th...

Re: ANY NEW REVELATION ON HANGING MIDI NOTES w/ G5 10.4.5/4.

Well it's evidently been corroborated upon by the subjective perception of numerous people but yeah, not proven with any objective tests per se. I wouldn't expect anyone to just accept those opinions as fact and of course it's fine if anyone disagrees and finds it to be perfectly good. I just found ...

Re: ANY NEW REVELATION ON HANGING MIDI NOTES w/ G5 10.4.5/4.

Sorry guys but I've not posted 'knee jerk theories', have indeed done 'due diligence' with all the trouble-shooting possible and this has nothing to do with user-error. I have about 13 years constant-use, professional experience and I do suspect I'm as 'expert'-level as you are. I wasn't intending a...

Re: ANY NEW REVELATION ON HANGING MIDI NOTES w/ G5 10.4.5/4.

I noticed that nobody responded to Coalman and Wayne's insightful observations regarding the timing 'groove' or feel of DP. I agree with this and wish that the MIDI timing of DP would be improved. I've noticed more tightness in feel whilst playing back the same MIDI files with either other software ...

Re: Novation Nocturn ?

The nocturn works very well on it's own and in conjunction with the remote zero. You can use the Automap HUI mode and have mixer control, which actually is nice for level adjustments as they are endless encoders and always start at the right fader values when switching banks of 8. But MAS plugins do...

Re: DP6.02 templates forgetting MIDI destination?

Yes I've experienced that as well, and the workaround has been to use project files as templates. It was brought up a while ago but no-one seemed that bothered by it. But still, it's a good feature that doesn't work anymore.

Re: Suggestions for DP 6.0.3

I think this vi/fx dock idea is great, as one of the most tedious aspects of working in a daw is opening/closing and moving around windows.

Re: DP6.02 No RMX multi Outs FIXED & Template issue

I'm experiencing this Templates issue as well. When creating a new project file from a template with vi's, all the MIDI track outputs are unassigned. And this is happening not just with multi-out vi's but with all vi's. This renders the Template feature useless, because reassigning output of 16+ MID...

Re: MIDI Latency fix idea submitted to MOTU for second time

Yes, I think this idea is great. If you plan on just recording MIDI with VIs you could boot it up in a sort of slimmed-down 'lite' mode that is more efficient and specially set up for that task. It would be good if it did bring the latency down further, and automatically boot with the appropriate bu...

Re: Suggestions for DP 6.0.3

- improved cpu efficiency with vi's - visible buffer size readout and selection And another suggestion I saw someone talk about on here one time - an FX/VI dock of some sort. I think this is a great idea and would make getting to the plugins faster and deal with the workflow impedance of having to c...

I agree, it would be good to have a button to be able to view and quickly change the buffer settings, or at least a keyboard command to open the configure hardware window.

Re: DP 6.01 Micro Report -- Day Two

I agree with Babz here, the tabs on the mixer and the effects windows waste screen space and are redundant. And if you click on the blob in the right hand corner to get rid of the tab you lose access to the mini-menus. In the mixer this means not having access to the 'attach MIDI controller' functio...

Yes, MIDI and Automation control. MIDI learn (and save) for all of the MAS plugins. Why? So that you can use external knobs or faders to make adjustments to parameters of FX or VI plugins, and/or recording automation. So that you can interface with more than just the mouse for everything. Also, the ...

So I decided to have a go at using the Drum Editor, for fast input of drum machine like parts (quantized, constant velocities) and now I've experienced the "Disappearing Notes" bug. It seems that every time I penciled in a note, another random note somewhere in the sequence would be erased...
