Re: 2nd Mac for video question

I don't know much about the DC30, but I'm a video/film editor. I'm quite confident, that it can't be done without extra hardware, cause you need to be able to: A: slave your G4/Software via LTC (and i don't think QT has an interface for that), aka having him CHASE the timecode signal. or B: Remote i...

Re: OMFII from MXF AVID Project ---> DP6 ::: The WORKAROUND

Lots of work, for sure. But AAF does work in DP 6 (so far) and I prefer that format anyway. Not having Audiodesk, your workaround isn't good for me. But I'm sure someone will appreciate the post when they need it. :) Thanks. I know it's worth s**t when you don't have Audiodesk. Wasn't there the sam...

OMFII from MXF AVID Project ---> DP6 ::: The WORKAROUND

OK, I've been fiddling with this for quite a while and I came up with this: Requirements: AUDIODESK 2.14 (included with Motu I/O hardware like 828 etc.. prior versions might work too) AVID-system being able to work with MXF-media (usually all HD-compatible systems like adrenaline etc.) The complete ...

Re: Mastering audio for broadcast

Nearly all broadcasters have different specs… so this isn't easy to answer.
Here in Germany I usually format the audio due to ARD/ZDF specs: -9dBFS maximum peak and a lineup tone of 1KHz@-18dBFS… this would usually not be rejected.
But you'll have to find out the specs according to the broadcaster.

DP and Wavelab work side by side in a perfect combination in my studio.
WAVELAB ROCKS! There's nothing like it on MAC unfortunately.

AAF/OMF import to DP6 ---> Use Audiodesk!!!

Ok, if you also have Motu hardware, you should have Audiodesk. By using Audiodesk 2.11 I could easily open an OMF2.0 and make an Audiodesk project with that.
This can be opened in DP6 and be saved as a DP project… voilà!

Hope it works for you too!

Re: AAF/OMF import to DP6

I have the same problem, crashing while trying to open an OMF on DP6.0 I also have PT 7 installed, is this a pattern here??? jeez and yup, no problems what so ever the other way around what I've been doing is, consolidate all tracks from "0" and throw them one by one to a DP template, is ...
