Re: DP11 + Sequoia Bugs?
...the cursor gets stuck on the arrow and crossfade little squares disappear and several other related anomalies. I get those two graphic bugs now and then (not constantly, very occasionally) on my M1 Ultra. They don't stick around or impede my editing in a significant way. Arrow Cursor Stick is fi...

Re: DP11 + Sequoia Bugs?
I upgraded to a new MacMini M4 that already had Sequoia installed, so I reluctantly went with it. Definitely having issues with DP - pretty much a crash every day now, where it was only very occasional before. Having consistent weird cursor issues when soundbite editing, which is 90% of my work. I h...

Re: the cleanest compressor you can recommend
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I'll follow up on all of them. I do own Cytomic "The Glue" and use it a lot on music tracks. It's a great tool, but I wouldn't put it in the transparent category, myself. I used to own some Wavearts and Sonnox way back - geez it might have been OS9... ...

Re: the cleanest compressor you can recommend
I've been there, Phil. And never been really pleased with any compressor (hardware or software). But I gave a (last) chance with Unisum, from Toneprojects.com Ghee! A tedious amount of time to tweak and build my own presets (4 of them now). Now, I'm totally pleased with this plug. My dreams about c...

the cleanest compressor you can recommend
I edit and master a LOT of spoken word and live seminar material. I'm forever on the lookout for the cleanest, least coloration compressor. The stuff I deal with runs between whisper and shout levels, so I do a ton of extreme automation, but still need judicious compression, including stacking fast ...

Re: Exporting soundbites with sync points [figured out a solution]
SOLUTION: All my cues are in a file called CUES. I open a song where I need those cues and then File > Load and just load the soundbites from the CUES file. Then I can drag the cues from the Soundbites window into the graphic editor wherever I need them in the timeline. I was originally going to dra...

Exporting soundbites with sync points [figured out a solution]
Happy New Femtosecond, y'all. I've never used sync points in soundbites before. I've read the manual and looked through the archives here. I'll save you most of the details - I have about 20 cues (mono soundbites) where I have inserted sync points. When I select them, right click and "export se...

Re: Automate MIDI plugin bypass?
I usually do quantizing destructively, and for things like tempo moves-- the MIDI can either go off grid, or I just do tempo shapes in the conductor track until it's right. Talk about tedious. The tempo T's are microscopic, like clicking on a single celled organism on my screen and then dragging it...

Re: Automate MIDI plugin bypass?
There are tricky aspects to bypassing/enabling MIDI plugins because there are time-domain processes like quantize or time shift, that can create issues related to having to chase notes and CC's in the time domain. I can understand MOTU not wanting to become time cops in that regard. Interesting - s...

Re: Automate MIDI plugin bypass?
Here's what I'm working on: My wife and I are planning to move back to our hometown of Kansas City. Our drummer agreed to record our whole song list which is about 40% originals. He recorded everything on a Roland electronic kit, so now I'm using the MIDI to trigger Addictive drums and mixing down t...

Re: Automate MIDI plugin bypass?
Are these approaches too clunky? 1) Create Similar MIDI track and enable Quantize on that Track only. In your window of choice, drag regions of MIDI Data from non-quantized track into quantized Track 2) Apply Quantization within the MIDI Track in the required regions only. If concerned about losing...

Re: Automate MIDI plugin bypass?
Thanks, guys.
I thought I had it figured out this morning but no luck.
Like I said earlier, it seems an odd omission amid an ocean of MIDI features.
I would suggest it to MOTU but I've had zero success in that dept.
Thanks, again.

Automate MIDI plugin bypass?
I've searched here and in the manual. Is there a way to automate bypass of a MIDI plugin? I need to automate the Quantize plug on and off on lots of songs in a big project. The workaround is clunky to the point of unusable. I could automate an internal parameter (Strength) but that's a longer shot s...
