828mkII.

I found the problem. If you correctly set the inputs on each track instead of having them all set to mic 1 and mic 2 it works fine.

I need more sleep.

AudioDesk 2.11 - record more than 2 at once?

I just installed audiodesk on my new intel mac. It's great to see the auto delay compensation feature added - and auto input monitor! It's not great that it won't let me record arm more than 2 tracks at a time. Motu, have you truly made audiodesk useless so that we all must buy DP 5x? I tried the &q...

It's trippy if you play all the tracks together.

I find it interesting, chrispick, that you mention the pultec and some others have mentioned emulator style eqs in this thread. I can't help but agree and speculate that some of what I'm looking for can't be accomplished with the "colder" style digital eqs.

Great advise. Thanks all.

Why is it that the best solution is usually the most expensive (better mics, pres, rooms....)?

...avoid those cottage cheese highs....

what's the source? program material? vocals? samples? guitars? if recorded, what kind of mic? How are you boosting in MWEQ? Try setting the HMF (green) band to a shelf filter (last option), beginning anywhere from 8Khz-12Khz, with a medium wide Q setting, and boost a few dB. I suppose I'm looking f...

How do you get "silky" highs?

Lately, I've been trying to get a "silkier" sound from my high freqs. Using normal eq's like MWEQ or Waves Ren EQ just isn't giving me what I'm looking for. I can get close with the "harmonic excitement" section of Ozone, but I don't have the horsepower to run it on alot of track...

Gearboy, how does the sound of the duet compare to the sound of your BLA modded 828mkII?

Have you tried using the mixer as the master clock? As long as you have s/pdif outs connected to s/pdif ins it should work.

It's possible, but not both at the same time (with all 8 channels). Use Cuemix to route your analog ins to adat outs and vice versa.

I found a workaround to get audio into PTLE directly from my 828mkII. I took a screen video in case anyone is interested in this. It works well, but I haven't tested the latency of overdubbing factor yet. Hopefully I can come up with a workaround for that too. Basically, you use JackOSX's audio serv...
