I was just playing a guitar through my 828mkII using waves GTR 3. I have the buffer down as low as it can get and it gave me a high pitched sqeal for about 2 seconds. Check your buffer settings. Take it up to the next level if you have it set low.

+1 for nuendo.

Fully supports using outboard gear as an insert with delay compensation.

Maybe you could route the analog outs of your mbox and 8pre to a small analog mixer and blend the signals there. Unfortunately, the mbox doesn't offer direct digital monitoring like the motu. There is a mix control on the front of the mbox that gives you direct output of whatever you are running int...

AlexKemp, I don't mind the fact that you brought the topic up again. In my limited experience, most digital mixers (software or hardware) sound mostly the same. They are for better or worse utterly and coldly transparent. I don't believe alot of energy should be put into testing which one is "b...

Cubase VS Nuendo

I always thought that Nuendo and Cubase had the same mix engine. This test, to me, proves that nuendo 3 sounds slightly smoother in the highs than cubase sx 3. The mixes were bounced from the same session with the same settings in both programs. The mix is a song performed by a wedding band I'm in. ...

Welcome to the loudness war, private! Now get down and give me 20 dB on your peak limiter! Seriously, it sounds like you need a way to control the levels going into your interface. If I were recording what you are, I would have everything going into DI boxes and set the levels with mic trim controls...
