I hate to say it....Nuendo also does external effect delay compensation quite well.....

I was just playing a guitar through my 828mkII using waves GTR 3. I have the buffer down as low as it can get and it gave me a high pitched sqeal for about 2 seconds. Check your buffer settings. Take it up to the next level if you have it set low.
