Tiger does optimize (defrag) at the end of installs, but this is only done on the Disk with the OS. Those of us with separate audio drives must use third party software. What do you guys use?

Have you tried dragging and dropping? Make sure your sample rate is the same. Consult the manual (v4.5 and up to v5) page 107.

Listing your system and OS will help everyone else get a handle on your problem.

2. How often do you defrag all of your HD's? Again, long hours over a couple of years of recording and erasing audio, saving user edited samples and patch files for VI's require some TLC. Directory forks get jumbled and need to be repaired. Repairing Disc Permissions in OSX Utilities only solves OS...

I hadn't heard that. Do you suppose Apple keeps someone on site at LG (in Korea) to pick out the good parts from the bad?
