PS. The Firewire drive boxes HAVE to have the Oxford Chipset in them to work at maximum efficiency with audio. I'll post the brand of Firewire enclosure I pick up in the next couple of days. Ordered them locally. Don't know what the enclosures are yet. Will have a DiamondMax 10 200gig ATA 100 drive ...

I meant to include VST instruments to 'samples' which I'll be putting on my ATA 100 drive bus. I think the portablility of using Firewire (which I already used for storage) will be good. I'm moving up to Firewire 800 from 400 which is why I didn't use Firewire before for my main audio drive. The 2nd...

666 (ever think about changing your name? lol), I'm going with Firewire 800 for my audio files (different bus than the internals or using PCI card and plenty fast), Using the ATA 66 for my system drive, and the ATA 100 internal bus for my samples. Some samples, like Reason, will be stored on the sys...

ATA100 ATA66 bus for Audio/System in G4 Dual 1.42 & 10.4
I bought a used G4 FW800 1.42ghz Mac because my Dual 867MDD was getting dropouts when I added a UAD card to my PCI-324 and UltraSCSI cards on the PCI bus. Thought the higher bus speeed in the 1.42 would help. G5's changing too fast for me to jump in there just yet. So, now I'm configuring the new (u...

Go to the TOP of that page for my hard drive question. I didn't realize it would point to the last reply on that page.

Beatworld. That offers TONS of hope !! I've downloaded the PCI-424 driver package on my Titanium laptop and am burning a CD of the files now. I probably won't get it installed in my new G4 FW800 1.42 for a week or so while I try to sort out the hard drive issues posted here: http://www.motunation.co...

I just bought a G4 1.42 for the faster bus. Still setting it up. I have a Dual 867 MDD that has worked great with PCI-324 under 9.2.2 so now I'm making the switch to OSX. Don't laugh, my stuff has worked flawlessly for several years with tons of tracks, VSTi's, and the like. I didn't want to be down...

PCI-324 with Tiger, Cubase SX and G4 1.42
Hey all. Has anyone tried the OSX drivers under PCI-424? They say in the text it also has drivers for PCI-324. Under PCI-324 drivers there doesn't appear to be drivers for Tiger. Also, after I added a UAD card to my G4 Dual 867 MDD the audio crackles when I have the UAD card extensions active if I d...

Thanks again Frodo Ya, playing back audio isn't the real problem, it's that with the UAD card added to my PCI-324 AND SCSI I think my PCI bus is pretty maxed out. I'm hopint this 1.42 will help with the faster bus (and ram). If i can get another year out of this new computer with everything working ...

Giles, thanks man I'm a little confused about Master/Slave If I have samples on either bus (like Battery drums or The Grand) that it won't play the samples at the same time either my System Drive or my Audio Drive are working? That would eliminate using either 2nd drive on either bus wouldn't it in ...
