Exactly my problem, very high, distorted output, until moving the master fader. Then everything is fine. My Ultralite worked flawlessly until updating the firmware. I've emailed MOTU tech support. Ultralite worked perfectly until updating new firmware. Now 1 of 2 things happen (using main outs), either... a. no sound, or b. very distorted high output, into the red The problem is then quickly "fixed" by simply opening the cuemix console and pulling the master volume down then back up...

yes, I'm using this combo, with an OWC FW800 ext HD.
works beautifully.
