Re: Recording Live - First Experience

Thanks for the clarification Pappy... now if you could explain why I always have to buy new gear to do what I want to do... oh right, I now have a studio and an endless list of gear to get!

Re: Recording Live - First Experience

Thanks for the reply Pappy... but I need a bit of clarification. I want to use the 828mkII and an 8pre... run it thru my laptop (recording each track individually) ) and then run the mix, with effects, to the speakers. Is this possible with the 828mkII or is the mkIII required. Wouldn't adding the 8...

Re: Recording Live - First Experience

Excellent! Am I understanding this correctly? Can use an 8pre & 828mk2 as the mixing board? And can I put real time effects like EQ and reverb that will be sent to the main outs on the 828 as I record on my laptop? I'd like to eliminate the small Mackie board I use and if I've read it right it i...

Re: DP6.02 quit unexpectedly with Snow Leopard

[quote="aprael"]Since we're posting crashes! My DP, CueMix as well as my NI plug-ins are crashing at random with the same failure. As the last two entries state this probably isn't the right place to report crashes... maybe someone could inform you (us) where the right place to post crashe...

Re: DP6.02 quit unexpectedly with Snow Leopard

Oh well, my jubilation was premature... had a long session yesterday (the re-do of previous crashed session) and had no problems. Then another short session in the evening.... bummer it crashed again. Only good thing is I only lost a poor vocal take.... the only bad thing is it is still crashing. Se...

Re: DP6.02 quit unexpectedly with Snow Leopard

Eureka! I do believe you done did it SSG! Upon reading your analysis I got out the manual checked out what could have been causing the problem (which ultimately was me) and I do think I found the button that was turned on that shouldn't have been. As of this morning I have hope that it was the audib...

Re: DP6.02 quit unexpectedly with Snow Leopard

Are you sure you lost the takes? The actual sound files might still be in your Audio Files folder for that project. If so, you can probably put them back in. Be still my heart... but yup upon checking they are definitely gone, sigh... I hope this isn't an indictment of iMacs running Snow Leopard. I...

Re: DP6.02 quit unexpectedly with Snow Leopard

oh now Kassonica... there you go asking a question beyond my ken. I thought you guys just gave great answers to all of us with ambiguous questions! As far (or short) as I do know I've only installed DP6 & Snow leopard... but I suppose some third party plugins could be there. I simply don't know....

Re: DP6.02 quit unexpectedly with Snow Leopard

Thanks Phil, Your reply is encouraging and I trust that it is an operator error and not a software/systems error. I had 6 takes, at 24 bit depth, on two tracks and wonder should I have used the large or jumbo size from the drop down menu? (the one next to the record button) It was at medium. Could t...

DP6.02 quit unexpectedly with Snow Leopard

Howdy, Just had a recording session with a paying client... DP6.02 quit unexpectedly (twice) while selecting a track in the sequence window and clicking on the sound file tab. Yes we lost some takes. Yes it made me look bad (which I am used to). I just upgraded my old G4 powerbook w/Tiger and never ...
