need new driver
Hi. Just installed Big Sur on my Intel chip iMac, and DP's "configure audio system" doesn't see my Thunderbolt 8pre ES anymore, nor does the audio portion in System Preferences. Downloaded & installed what I think are the latest drivers from the MOTU site, but still no go. Suggestions?...

Re: Mixing Not Registering until Clicking on Faders
Hi. I find that when I duplicate a sequence I often get the markers, event list, and some etc's in the sidebar from the previous sequence. I can select from the sidebar and change, but it's a PITA and wastes a lot of time.

MOTU MIDI interfaces and SYSEX reliability
Hi folks, I'm dragging out and plugging in some old MIDI devices of mine, but need a new MIDI interface, and want to go with MOTU products. I could use one that can do MMC and stripe timecode, but that's just an "I'm glad I have it for this oddball project" add-on. Some reviews I have read...

Re: apply plug-in to all tracks?
pre-insert on the template is a good idea, too....lately, if i'm doing a mix, i just drag provided tracks into their respective instrument folders, but having more dedicated blank tracks to fill up would save a number of steps.

Re: apply plug-in to all tracks?
Thanks, people! I do option/drag the plugins, especially if there are 2 tracks that are similar....adjust one and then copy it to the other. I generally have been putting trims on the individual tracks, but think one on a group fader is a good idea for when things get loud!

apply plug-in to all tracks?
Hi. Is there any way, in the Mix window, to apply a plug-in (ex: 'trim') to all track faders at the same time?

Re: Sending MIDI out of Audio Units plugins
I had never heard of sending MIDI from an audio track til right now. Please, could you give a brief synopsis of how that does (can) work, and some examples of what it might do?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Changing more than 1 input/output at a time?
Hi, for as long as I remember, you could (in the tracks window) change input or output to only one track at a time. Is this still the case? I can't find anything in the manual. Ex: Take all drum tracks and send them to the same output at one time.

MOTU 8pre-es...optical? routing?
Ah, my continuing saga with my new piece of gear....2 things: --I have an old 8pre lightpiped to my new 8pre-es. I'm getting signal passed to the ES, because I can see the meter on the ES monitoring the input. I guess I don't know much about optical, because nothing is coming out of my speakers! sho...

Thunderbolt cable for 8pre-es??
Hi folks. I'm pretty much of a newbie to Thunderbolt, so have been having trouble hooking up the 8pre-es I just bought to my 2020 iMac. I've had success with the USB/USB connection, but want the TB. None of the MOTU literature nor the manual says anything about which cables to use. MOTU's online adv...
